What I remember about the 70's in a glance:
Met the woman who became my life-long partner in 1970
Concerts (1970 - 1974) at the Eddie Graham Sports Stadium (3 Dog Night, Sonny & Cher, 4 Seasons, Moody Blues, and the like) - watched many a wrestling match there as well (yeah, I was hooked on Dusty Rhodes and Rick Flair).
Engaged in 1971
First real job in 1972 (T'ville FD)
Miami's perfect season
Married 1973 - rented first residence
First born 1974
1975 - Had to take a second job (stocking at ABC Liquor store) to help make ends meet - first home purchased
1976 - bi-centennial celebration - FD Christmas party
1977 - blurr (probably soem of that from the Christmas party)
1978 - second son born (Bandit)
1978 - third job doing lawns
1979 - decided one job should be enough for anyone so went to work at the Space Center from where I retired in 2013.

Nothing all that exciting to anyone else - but it was my 70's life in a nutshell and wouldn't change any of it. ...

So @Bandit is YOUR son!!! :nono: Does @leftypower know about this?

Well 1977 must have been one helluva blur, because that's the year I was born, not 1978. LOL.

@leftypower - Happy Father's Day!

lol

in all fairness, I'm quickly finding out that as I remember more and more dates/bdays/anniversaries and such, I'm starting to forget more and more of them too. You were within 1yr, and according to Price is Right rules, you didn't bust, so I'll allow it

looks quite a bit like mine Lefty and it isnt boring

the diff being my seventies kinda start mid seventies into mid eighties im prob 5 years or so behind ya

i must admit though i treated the first half of the eighties as if i was still living in and acting as if it was the seventies..

if i list the concerts then we may be bored i honestly have seen anywhere between 800 and 1000 i boy im jonesing as i write for a show right now....

funny in the early seventies i went to wrestling as well

Andre The Giant was the big star and unheard of in the U S of A at that time

he was known here as Giant Jean Ferre well before becoming Andre down south

when they used to do Wrestling at the Chase in St Louis, Andre the Giant went to an Irish tavern in my hometown that was owned by some of my good friends' grandpa. It was on the IL side of STL and he drank like 70 something beers in a couple hours, which apparently wasn't even a heavy drinking night for him, lol.

my friends are twins, and i'm pretty sure they have a picture of Andre holding the two girls, one each shoulder at the bar, when they were babies in the mid-80s. Pretty damn cool
