That doesn’t make sense, why would giving a team five extra yards after a touchback increase returns? Unless I’m missing something that just makes no sense at all.
To incentivize teams to land it in the “landing zone” instead of kicking it into the end zone. Who knows. I just hate screwing with the rules every year.

I 100% get it. The fact he's mocking people who wipe their noses on their arm or shirt which when brushed up against another person can cause them to contract a cold, flu, COVID, or AIDS is absolutely disgusting! And then he POINTS!? Like he's going to shoot his diseases at someone in a gun!? UNBELIEVABLY disgusting!

Furthermore, imagine people that are sick who legitimately have to wipe their nose!? He's now making fun of sick people! Absolutely reprehensible behavior and IMO he should be fined and possibly jailed for making fun of sick people and diseases for entertainment!
I'm feeling violent already!

!!!!

Lamb already said he has other stuff lined up! What's next for this lunatic!? Pretending to cry thus mocking people who have lost loved ones and are going through hard times!? He better learn to tone it down! Clearly pulling down his pants and waving his dick around in his jock strap while painting LGBTQ on his thighs (LG on one thigh, BTQ on the other) is the only reasonable course of action to reverse my opinion of this offensive maniac! At least that will not be offensive and inappropriate for the children!

At this point, skip the kickoff altogether. Just put the ball on the 20, 30, whatever and start the offense. The more convoluted option is always going to be worse IMO.

Or go back to the original kickoff!! Mess around with where you kick from and that's it. The whole reason to switch was to minimize injuries on returns and now they are just trying to create more returns. Guys that size can still easily get concussions with the new rules and most of the non-concussion STs injuries seemed to be non-contact to me. So what are they accomplishing exactly? I always thought punt returns were more dangerous anyway

The idea that running from 40 creates stronger collisions that 10-20 yards seems odd to me. It's not like these guys are continually accelerating over 40 yards.

Wouldn't it make more sense to have the return team blockers closer to the coverage team at the kickoff with the original kickoff scenario? Why was the established coverage plan to retreat and try to block these guys when they're at full sprint all those years?

The NFL chooses to glorify and teach/accept big hits as the preferred tackling method over wrapping up. Ultimately, that's the real culprit with all of these collision injuries, tackling with shoulder checks and spearing with the helmet instead of ACTUAL tackling.

I think it was more the spinal injuries than the concussions.

First time my wife watched football with me, Week 1 of the 2007 season, Kevin Everett's career ended with a neck injury on a kickoff. She basically never watched again.
