The Browns could be decent if they had good QB play - they have some talented pieces, especially on D, and they made the playoffs in 2023 when Flacco was solid.

Specifically being healthy and not turning the ball over. Eyeballing the metrics last year, they had the 31st best offense last year and when your offense is that bad it makes your defense look worse than it is. The Browns had 34 giveaways last year which is 2 a game. The only other team that bad was Tennessee and guess who the two worst teams were.

Yeah their QBs threw more picks than TD passes, that’s awful. And their rushing game wasn’t good enough to offset the bad QB play so their O sucked.

For sure and while I do think these can be somewhat random we were terrible in forcing TOs (or at least coming up with TOs even if not forced). Mostly same D, I think, was fine to good the previous year forcing TOs.

all this said not one to rip the Browns for this as made sense at time just having a QB like Baker we'd have won a lot more IMO last season.

I remember the Chiefs/Browns game pretty well. Browns maybe had a shot in that with even a top 20 QB.

Yep...and while we fell behind the eagles early and could hardly get a stop had a chance near the end to pull it out if I remember correctly.

Yeah that was the first game out of the bye for the Eagles and that was an ugly week here. Sirianni was seen chirping a fan at the end of the game. He brought his kids to the presser to seemingly be a shield for criticism. That day the Eagles season looked dire. Thank God they got so much better from that day and thank God they were playing the Browns. They could survive that with a win when a loss might have sent them spiraling.

Stafford was paid $89M for the 2022 and 2023 seasons combined. He was paid $40M for 2024 including a $4M guaranteed bonus in 2025 even if he retired. It was a placeholder 3rd year that allowed for the Rams to have 1st option on a 2025 or longer deal without the pressure caused by a tag. Stafford was never expected to play for the existing $23M scheduled in 2025. I expected that new 2025 deal to be $45 - $54M per season based on his play in 2024. $50M+ shouldn't be a big surprise. If they can't make a deal the Rams will allow Stafford to move to a team of his choice, subject to trade compensation. Stafford might well announce his retirement if the Rams tried to trade him somewhere he didn't want to go, which would at least kill trade compensation. A trade would likely to be valued at a low 1st overall but could potentially consist of a 2nd round value in 2025 and additional value in 2027 if/when Stafford returns for a 2nd year in 2026. The Giants #3 overall pick should be a pipe dream. There is no 3-year $210M negotiation. That was a hoax post on another forum.

Spotrac reports that Dolphins LT Terron Armstead reduced his 2025 compensation on Feb 25 down to a $1.25M minimum for purposes of a post Jun 1st designation, freeing up $13.7M of cap. I was under the impression that contract changes had to be made by Monday of the final week of the regular season for this to be allowed - specifically to prevent this. Any such change should make him ineligible for post Jun 1st designation.

I read earlier in the year. He would contemplate retirement.
couple that with this & it seems like the Rams will actually look to replace him & try to give him some respect to find a trade or retire instead of being cut.
This actually makes me think he was never contemplating retirement.
He wants guaranteed money. The Rams seem to not want to overpay.

No way his wife is done stacking cash from the gravy train she’s riding.

If he wasn't on the Rams, I'd say the Rams would be at the top of the list.

He could be a difference-maker in Pittsburgh, though. I'd be shocked if they got him and didn't win a playoff game.
Staff has only won one game outside in the cold his entire career.

And that one game was in SF. Which doesn’t even get cold.

He’s never won when it’s snowing. Not once.

That doesn’t seem right. He doesn’t play a lot of game where it would be cold or snowing, despite being in the NFC north, cuz domes, but I see some late-season wins in Green Bay and Chicago.

He’s 32-40 overall when outside.

In general his best work is often at the end of the season. Just not outside in the cold.

Staying with the Rams, going to MN, or to the Raiders are my top three outcomes.
