It’s ridiculous to make bold judgments after just one season. Plenty of QBs suck their rookie year, what Daniels did this year and what Stroud did last year isn’t the norm, and Caleb wasn’t even that bad this year. And Bryce Young is showing that he may be decent after all for that matter. To label Caleb a bust/draft mistake after just 1 season is dumb
It really is.

Give him a good QB coach and OC and he could be a really good player.

Sanders and Ward are decent but I’m not 100% sold on them being franchise QBs. I’m glad my Falcons got our QB in last year’s class.
Never said either would be elite or franchise QB's but both could be very good, just under elite.

I agree both could be very good, I’m not just 100% sure about them like I was about the guys in last year’s class.

Just think about this....

There are only like 6, maybe 7-8 franchise QB's....the term gets thrown around pretty loosely.

Whats funny is that the line drawn is the Super Bowl against Brady.

The NFL changed the overtime rules for the Bills. Also, do you know which team had the fewest penalties during the regular season? The Rams.

Good coaching makes a difference too

Josh McDaniels headed back to New England to be Vrabel's OC.

Saw something about that recently and it's official.

I think there are a few more than that, depending on your definition of “franchise QB”. I think there are 4 clear cut elite QBs (Mahomes, Allen, Burrow, Jackson) but there are more franchise QBs who aren’t “elite”

Again did you say this about Carolina a year ago? Did you say it was too early to make that call? I'm amazed at the push back I am gettting for my position. here.

Listen to what you are saying. "he COULD be a really good player". It's as if you are not aware that Jayden Daniels is already a great player. Why the board universally gives Caleb excuse after excuse instead of acknowledging that there are real concerns here is amazing.

Forget about the passing stats, which really aren't even close. Look at all the 3rd and 4th downs Daniels converts with a free rusher coming at him. In the 4th quarter. Of a tight game. He makes plays that wins games. Caleb has yet to prove that he can do that.

When they played each other they had identical plays, too lazy to find it. Daniels avoided a lineback in the open field and converted a 3rd and long. In the identical situation Caleb was brought down by Luvu. On top of everything else Jayden Daniels is clearly more moble and does more damage with his wheels.

I am going out on a limb like Phoenix Eagle (or whatever his name was) did with Wentz. I realize I am putting myself out there and subject to a massive I Told You So if I am wrong. But man this is such an easy thing to see right now.

Caleb COULD be great some day.

Jayden ALREADY is great.

With that simple summary it's clear that Daniels should have been the first pick.

I'll say it again. I had no problen with the Falcons selecting Michael Penix when they did. If you have the chance to grab a guy you believe will be a franchise QB you take your shot.

Although I liked Penix before the draft after seeing him I'm not so sure. He has a cannon and bullets into the gut into tight windows he's great at. But when he has to put air under the ball and lead a receiver, man he's got a lot of work to do.

Goff was the #1 pick in 2016. Everybody knew that he wasn't NFL ready. Expectations were that he would sit as a rookie, show something in 2017, and be a good QB from 2018 onwards. Wentz was the #2 pick and the thought on other Rams boards was that Wentz would be good straight away but that his playing style would mean he'd have a short career at the top. Prescott wasn't on anyone's radar as being the best QB in the Draft. However, in the preseason opener at the Los Angeles Coliseum Prescott showed that he was NFL ready and that he was going to be a star. Goff had 1 of the worst rookie seasons of any top 10 pick. Some called him a bust who would be gone in year 3. At the very least he couldn't be justified as the #1 pick. Goff made the ProBowl in 2017 and 2018. Good coaching can change things.
