It shouldn't be this hard to dump the Saints @ Rams TNF game in Week 16. The only reason to schedule it there is so it can be flexed out.

Rams provided a great game in prime time late this past season with their 4th QB. You never know, and it's only a Thursday game anyway.

They did bitch a lot. But this is a rule that should have been in place years ago. I just think having 3 QBs should always be a priority for teams, it's a brutal game.

Teams were always able to keep 3 QBs active, just had to deactivate someone else. Maybe that 5th WR, 3rd TE, 8th OL, some special teams player, etc.

I don't understand this. The raiders and tom Brady seem like oil and water to me.

Maybe a condition of him buying in is he gets a say so on #1 picks moving forward.

If I had the cash and I could buy into an NFL team I would but some teams it would be really hard to part with the cash. Raiders and Cleveland come to mind right off the bat.

Either way, I wish him the worst of luck, fuck tom brady.

Newly single and retired millionaire athlete wants to spend time in Vegas and have a legitimate backup reason, lol.

It's to minimize those runbacks, which are the most dangerous plays in the game.

Makes the field shorter, though, so will inflate stats a little.

Yeah, they thought the touchback rule would be enough, but teams started kicking higher and short of the goal line. That creates even more dangerous collisions while players wait for the ball to come down closer to the coverage team sprinting at them. Good rule if you're going to focus on player safety, must've liked how it worked in the NCAA?

LOL. You need a hotel after a drive from LA to Vegas? Also, how many football fans are going to complain about having to spend the weekend in Vegas? He's also missing the lead time needed to change that scheduling.

Now there's a stupid idea. Like you say, lots of squib kicks are likely coming.

Returner gets the ball much quicker than on a pop up kick short of the goal line, more time to get blockers lined up. Plus, a squib could be fielded outside the 25.

Any 2 teams could produce a great game, or a terrible game. For a tv company it's about maximising the audience size. Fans of teams from certain locations are more likely to tune in. Fans of teams that are winning are more likely to tune in. Fans of teams that play a particular style of football are more likely to tune in. The Rams and Saints don't project to be teams that fit the bill. This game is an obvious flex candidate as of May 24 2023.

Mayfield was an NFL quality QB, unlike Wolford and Perkins. I would describe Mayfield as the 4th player to play QB for the Rams in 2022 rather than being the Rams 4th QB. "It's only a Thursday game" is the wrong attitude.

I disagree. Thursday games suck. No team should have to endure that short of a preparation week for Amazon revenue. Greed greed greed...
You can disagree with generating income all you want. You could get rid of MNF and SNF as well. TNF generates income and it's not going away. At some point the NFL will decide to have a 2nd bye week so they can schedule bye weeks before TNF games. This will later lead to football on both Wednesday and Thursday. Enjoy.

Maybe. Probably. The option to pay for something is better than no option to have it. Ironically people have more access to games now than they've ever had. I hope FOX doesn't change their website access, but they probably will.

Cable networks continue to raise their fees, cable companies raise their rates, people cut the cord, now everything moves to streaming eliminating the middle man, luring in the consumer with initially low rates and start the process over.
