Seahawks RB Chris Carson retiring after five seasons due to neck injury

NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport reported Tuesday that Seahawks running back Chris Carson will retire after five seasons due to the neck injury that prematurely ended his 2021 season.

The team will release him with a failed physical designation, which allows the RB to receive injury protection benefits.

I had to look up Barry Sanders...
- #4 all time leading rusher
- 41 career fumbles... 10 here in his first season. Averaged 3.6 fumbles a season rest of his career!

Was surprised not to see Adrian Peterson on list... thought he had fumble issues. He just missed the list at 49... had 3 seasons with 9, 7 and 7... but other than that, very respectable.
