Either get a haul for trading back or take the QB and move Fields
There is a scenario where the Bears trade back, and trade Fields, and still draft a rookie QB - just not Caleb.

You look at the 2 QB that just played in the SB... they were not #1 overall picks.

Heard a radio discussion on Caleb Williams and Fields. The gist was that even tho Fields has shown flashes of greatness, in truth he has not been consistent.
So the argument was, if a raw Caleb Williams will get you a "floor" of what Fields has done over the last 4 years, then just take CW.
If the only options, sure. But they're not.

if they can get a late 1st or early 2nd for Fields, I think you have to jump all over that. No clue what the interest level from other teams would be on Fields, only off-season rumors I've seen so far have tied him to Tomlin/Steelers but pick 20 seems like a Bears' wet dream and pick 51 doesn't blow the hair back considering Fields has flashed some potential + all the talks about the Bears not utilizing his skills properly

The sad part for me as a fan is i am so used to every decision being a bad one, that at this point, stands to reason that any choice/scenario will most definitely backfire.

But i do like the OC Waldron hire.

So why don't the Bears keep Fields and take Marvin?
yea, kinda like what Monkey said..
sure it's an option, but to maximize this lottery ticket they have- if they are not going to take a QB and decide that they will be moving forward with Fields-, then you HAVE to get max value out of the 1.1, and that's just not a WR, I don't care who he is or how great is might end up being, not when picks #7-#13 all are in need of a QB in some way shape or form, depending on free agency and where a couple guys go, but even then, multiple teams are going to be vying for moving up, could easily be a bidding war of sorts. Moving back to anywhere in that area, you've still got a couple great WR's, OT's, edge rushers, whatever to choose from and you're likely picking up a second or third this year, and a #1 next year by trading it.
I just can't see any way to slice it other than they take a QB, or they trade back, it'd just be silly to use it not on a QB given the value it could bring. No position on the field other than QB is worth holding onto that pick.

The problem with GM's and the scouting department is that they all think they are smarter than every other one in the league when it comes to talent and they just aren't. They are guessing too. They have just as many misses as hits in every draft, which is why when a team hits on several draft picks in a draft it's considered an anomaly and not the norm.
12 GM's have been on the job for 2 years.

The obvious smart play is to trade with the Commanders, who seem very invested in Williams. What to do after that I'm not sure.

like I had mentioned a couple weeks ago- hiring Kliff Kingsbury as OC, who coached C. Williams at USC after allegedly promising him they would do 'whatever it takes' to lure him away from signing in Vegas. It's not hard to connect the dots that they'd be willing to make that move.

Tyreek Hill had 19 plays where he ran at least 20mph on the field.

No one else in the league had more than 7....

best of both worlds too, sure he would like to have 3 SB rings and it would be a lot cooler to have 3 than 1, but getting paid and having 1 SB ring is actually better imo

Yes, on the other hand 3 SB rings and $60M maybe is as good as 1 SB ring and $72M.

I agree that the money plus one SB is better for tyreek.

But generally I think it depends on position. For qbs, SBs are more important than money imo. As they make more than anyone else through advertising, and SBs are the way we measure qbs. The more SBs they get the more they can get away with whatever they want after football too.

Justin Fields stopped following the Bears on Instagram

For most of the people on here, I'll translate: this is similar to telling your boss to go F themselves at your job. Does it mean you're automatically fired? No, but it is definitely trending in that direction....

I called it weird after the second 'folks this cube, which corner is touching the x' question. Spatial reasoning can suck it
