And what do those picks guarantee? Not to mention we've been doing pretty good without 1st rounders for awhile now, they earned the trust. They gave up two 1st Rd picks, a 3rd, and a starting QB for Matt Stafford.
Oh boy, Rams fans are going to be disgruntled. They gave up two 1st Rd picks, a 3rd, and a starting QB for Matt Stafford.

I know and the funny thing is Philly and the Rams invested high in these 2 QBs and neither has made the stardom anticipated. Goff will land somewhere with a great running game that doesn't showcase his arm and he will be considered a great QB then. Maybe wind up like Dilfer or JohnsonGoing to be? You see Goff play the past few years?

Are you positive the Rams are not on the hook for some of Goff contract? In addition to Staffords.

good but nothing great or good enough to control games. They were middle of the road. I'll give ya an RB by committee is not too effective on any team but there is a bright side for the Rams running game.Rams have a good running game, Goff made no difference.

CAM came on strong towards the end of the season, Goff was the weak link.good but nothing great or good enough to control games. They were middle of the road. I'll give ya an RB by committee is not too effective on any team but there is a bright side for the Rams running game.
No guarantees. And what do those picks guarantee? Not to mention we've been doing pretty good without 1st rounders for awhile now, they earned the trust.
I think the Lions had already committed to the rebuild. Goff will just give them better picks over the next two years. No guarantees.
It's impressive that they found a team willing to absorb Goff's contract. So they deserve kudos for that. But Stafford is only under contract for 2 more years, and he's 7 years older than Goff... Stafford is 5-46 against teams with a winning record. Not to mention he has never won a playoff game.
It seems to me that the Rams just wanted to get rid of Goff more than they wanted to acquire Stafford. Pretty much downgraded their QB and threw away two 1sts & a 3rd to make it happen.
IMO on paper the Lions won this trade. Yea they'll be paying Goff more than he's worth, but those picks *COULD* make it worth it.
Good points. Lions are committing to, what, their 30th rebuild? But people thinking that the Rams are suddenly SB bound may want to pump the brakes a little. That's far from a guarantee. Stafford's essentially just an aged version of Goff.I think the Lions had already committed to the rebuild. Goff will just give them better picks over the next two years.
Also, the 5-46 record against good teams doesn’t bother me when you take into account that he plays for the lions.
Stafford is a lot better than Goff. Goff will look like shit without Sean McVay in his ear helping him with coverages. Stafford will look a lot better without shitty HCs and OCs. Stafford hasn’t ever had a coach like McVay.Good points. Lions are committing to, what, their 30th rebuild? Rams do have a better team & coaching staff so Stafford's chances of being successful in LA are far better than in Detroit. Guess we'll finally get to see what Stafford is made of next season.

Wow, mediocre QB's are expensive. They gave up two 1st Rd picks, a 3rd, and a starting QB for Matt Stafford.
