Dude - go root for another fucking team! Your BS is getting really old. Sorry that the Redskins can't make moves in a timeframe to simply entertain your impatient ass. We have no idea what they are or are not doing at Redskins Park and they have absolutely no obligation to make all of these moves via the media.

You don't like it? Fine - again root for another team.

McVay knows what he is doing. Look for him to poach other members of our offensive staff. Allen and SM need to get their thumbs out of their butts and do something. Brantley might be gone to the Chargers as well.

Not saying McVay is going to work out but if he is as smart as the league and several NFL experts make him out to be, I find it interesting that he hired Wade Phillips within hours of being hired as HC. Yet, our fearless HC and intelligent front office continue to sit on their hands and do nothing.

We literally should be offering Brantley a job at this moment before he goes to the Chargers.

You have no idea what SM and co. are doing or not doing at this time so you need to reconsider your thoughts. I seem to recall recently that Shark made the statement that if they didn't fire Barry rt away that he would be retained. Hmmm - how did that work out?

For all that we know they could be putting the final touches on signing their next D coordinator & maybe they really didn't want Phillips or Phillips may just not have wanted to be in DC or really, really wanted to be in LA. Yep the FO sucks & it was pure luck that the Redskins just had two over .500 seasons for the first time in ages.

I sure hope that folks here are not advocating the old Dan Snyder approach of replacing the head coach and GM every few years. That approach works great in today's NFL - rt?

It is a bad scenario for the NFC West. It is not a "nightmare scenario" for the redskins. Sorry.

McVay, on his first day as a head coach, made a great hire. Good for him. If he takes Phillips with him, that's ALSO to be expected. Good for HIM.

McVay's smart moves have nothing to do with the redskins now. He isn't going to take phillips, callahan, AND Cavanaugh. The redskins - on offense - will be fine.

They ought to get a move on finding a defensive coordinator though.

Agree & again people need to realize that asst coaches becoming head coaches elsewhere is a sign of a good team & is a reality in a league where there are generally 6-8 head coaching vacancies every offseason.

hope I'm not out of line, but didn't Scott pretty much have Djax and Norman fall out of the sky for him?
As bad as Barry's DC history was, Scotty didn't help by drafting a WR, and scooping up dlinemen that were washed up and better suited for 4-3. Also we put our faith in Bruton, who clearly did ok with the talent around him in DENVER...not here. Not hating on Scott and our recent success, but man...really what groundbreaking things has he done for the defense???

I wouldn't say Scotty Mac was lucky to sign Norman. Was it a bit of good fortune Norman became available when he did? Sure, no one saw that coming, once it became knoiwn Carolina let him go. Any ansd all teams were free to move on him and make their pitch. According to Norman, the Skins didn't offer him the most money and when he and Scotty Mac initially met. SM told him he wasn't letting him leave till he inked a deal. So I'd say Scott got his hustle on and spit a pretty good game.

Wade makes sense in LA because they have players. At 70 he is no ones long term solution. He would have been 72 before we had enough players for a good D here. That would be okay if he is the next Dick LeBeau who I consider one of the best DCs in the last 20 years. I am 50/50 on Gus/Pettine. I wouldn't mind them looking towards a guy like Vrabel. Wilks couldn't have been interesting but he is gone.

What an embarrassment! We all knew last year that SM had fallen asleep at the wheel when he did nothing of note to address the DLine. Drafting a WR in the 1st round wasn't the smartest move either. The fact that we are getting passed over for the Rams is just unacceptable.

SM is very smart and I have no idea why we have completely ignored the defense. We were 31 out of 32 team sin defensive spending. SM better pull a rabbit our of his hat this offseason or he might be on his way out. Its not that most Skins fans have unreasonable expectations, its that most Skins fans and experts see the glaring holes that he apparently doesn't. Either that, or his plan was to wait until this year to address it.

The fact that Phillips wasn't convinced should worry all of us. The Rams are a dumpster fire and if we are being passed over for the Rams, things are not good.

If Brantley passes us over for the Chargers, then we have a real problem. Perhaps things are going on at Redskins Park that we don't know about. Either way, SM has the most important offseason in his tenure to worry about right now. I am hoping he figures it out. The draft and FA must be devoted to the defense or we are in trouble yet again.

If the source is correct, the fact that SM believes they are 2-3 starters away from being "very competitive" is down right frightening. For the life of me, I don't understand why this Front Office believes we are better than we really are.

Two more starters would do little to nothing to improve the defense. Of course it would help, but there are too many holes and problems. We honestly are 4-5 starters away from having a very competitive defense. Lets say we get above average starters at FS, ILB, DE and DT (NT), we would be competitive, throw in another starter at SS or OLB, and we would be very competitive. How in the world SM feels we are 2-3 starters away is mind boggling to be honest. This article should be a wake up call.

Wade went from JJ Watt to Von Miller to Aaron Donald, he must be tired of dealing with these 1st team All Pros

The problems Skinsdad is that there is no reason for a lack of talent. When will SM be held accountable? I am willing to give him a pass for last year as he did a great job the year before and had a great 2015 draft. He needs to have a good 2017 draft and sign as many reasonable, talented and healthy free agents that he can. Again, you CANNOT build a team only through the draft. You can over an extended period but you have to have talent currently on the roster so you can compete while building.

we were in year 2 of a 5 year rebuild . we are going into year 3 . we had a million holes , i would say after this season is when questions should be raised

Hard to be too hard on the first GM to of the team to have back to back winning seasons in about 20 years. Is he perfect, no? Agree with dad, we are still rebuilding.
