Given the timing of everything, it doesn't sound like Smith will be available for Chicago.
Ok Pozz, here's a challenge...
When was the last time a team won the superbowl that had a tie in the regular season?
1974 Pittsburgh Steelers (10-3-1). They defeated the 10-4 Minnesota Vikings by a score of 16-6 in Super Bowl IX.
Prior to that, the 1970 Baltimore Colts (11-2-1). They defeated the 10-4 Dallas Cowboys by a score of 16-13 in Super Bowl V.
Before that, the 1967 Green Bay Packers (9-4-1). They defeated the 13-1 Oakland Raiders by a score of 33-14 in Super Bowl II.

Losing teams in the Super Bowl to have had a tie in the regular season
1966 Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl I. (11-2-1)
1971 Miami Dolphins in Super Bowl VI. (10-3-1)
1976 Minnesota Vikings in Super Bowl XI. (11-2-1)
1987 Denver Broncos in Super Bowl XXII (10-4-1)
and if he isn't available, don't force it. go ahead and play Kap.
it is a given Kap won't be "All Pro" given his lack of plaing time, but a win depends on the TEAM. we still need the rest of the players to up their game.....offense, defense and special teams.
