Well, it looks like the Donkeys are going to keep Simmons for a big chunk of change the Rams cannot now afford.

"Justin Simmons finally got his multiyear deal. The Denver Broncos reportedly will sign the safety to a four-year, $61 million contract with $35 million guaranteed, according to KOA Colorado's Benjamin Allbright!!"

I think our safeties will be pretty damn good, starters wise, depth is questionable.

Don't know why this rook is playin' around but if he gets off on the behind foot, he is going to regret it. I don't care how damn good he thinks he is. Get your dumb ass into the office and sign your rook deal, ya flippin idiot.

Not too surprising.

A lot of times they wait to see what others drafted around them sign for before signing theirs.

The later rounds are more cut and dry

Yea, ALR. I was thinking in terms that, even though the CBA sets the specifics of the rookie contracts so that there is no impetus for hold-outs, there
are always a couple of knuckleheads each year who, along with an agent, try to push the limitations and try to get more money outside the confines of the CBA. I was hoping Verse is not one of them this year.

This is where the Rams are headed in 2025 to get some cap space. If Stafford is healthy and still playing well after 2024, the first option will probably the course of action. If Stafford is declining for various reasons, the Second option will be the driving motivation for that action.

I agree. I wish we had some of those old-school LBs of yesteryear like London Fletcher, Jim Youngblood, Jack Reynolds, Kevin Greene, Mike Jones, Isaiah Robertson, James Laurinaitis, Mel Owens, Bob Brudzinski, Carl Ekern, Fred Strickland, George Andrews, and Chris Claiborne, just name a few.

Seems this was fake news. Reports now are that he's unlikely to return to the Broncos.

Well, WTH. If he is still available, the Rams would really do themselves a big boost on defense to sign him but probably can't because they are out of cap space. Don't know if cutting some dead weight like Durant and Kendricks would help all that much.

If/when Stafford's contract gets redone, that could potentially open up some cap this year, depending on how it is structured.

The Rams are going severely regret not selecting Milton from the draft. If Bennett is the future of the Rams QB, we may have a real mess on our hands. Yea he throws a very accurate pass but he is nearly Atwell size. Five foot Ten and 190lbs dripping wet. He reminds me a little of Pat Haden back-in-the-day.

I don't think he's the future of anything. He's the current backup, nothing more. I expect the Rams to draft an early QB in the next two years to groom to replace Stafford.

Milton is a super senior with really only 1 year of full-time production in the most gimmicky offense of the top schools, Tennessee. He's a 24 year old project. Sure, he's big and has a huge arm, but he lacks any finesse or touch and has been a one side of the offense QB, lacking the ability to read a complete defense.
