Yet another option for Snead to consider although I like the trade for Kareem Hunt better.

Johnson is a solid target, and honestly should've been this winter. He's been great when subbed in for the Browns, but got no interest and re-signed with the Browns for $1.2M. Strike now for him if he's available. Much more available than Hunt IMO.

The problem isn't the traded picks IMO, instead the failure to retain their own players. That was evident from week 1 when they had to face the Bills with Von instead of using Von vs the Bills. Ebukam made plays against the Rams for the Niners too.

This is McShit-fer-Brains code speak for: "I ain't changing a thing"! Who is the dumbass now?

The issues with the running game are many. First is the injury toll on the offensive line. Edwards, Allen, Anchrum, Shelton, and Bruss have all been out for differing lengths of time. Hard to run when you're down the depth chart so far between the tackles. Sure, Akers hasn't looked himself (except maybe against the Cards). Expecting to run much against the Bills or Niners is a tall ask, allowing 3.5 and 3 ypc respectively (top 3 in the NFL), but the Rams again have only looked solid against the Cards (12th at 4.3 ypc).

The injured linemen should start filtering back in, probably after the bye. The troubles with Robinson in the passing game aren't helping matters either, as Kupp can only fend off so much coverage. It was nice to finally see Atwell get a catch, but dammit get McCutcheon out there! When can Jefferson return, also after the bye?

Well, Edwards career may be done as he has had numerous concussions over the years. He just hasn't told anyone about most of them and under the new Concussion Protocol, more extensive evaluations are now mandatory with long-term prognoses included. Bringing back the injured O-lineman like Allen is not going to fix out lame running game. It was not very good last year but it was better than it is this year.

Allen is not that good of a Center and he sucks on both the run and the pass. He is the only O-lineman coming back maybe after the Bye. Shelton may return a couple of weeks after the Bye. The rest of them, Anchrum and Bruss are out for the year.

In order to improve the run, the pass, and this offense, we are going to need an infusion of new O-lineman from various sources. Havenstein is playing hurt and he is getting beat and Noteboom is horrible at LT. Jackson is the lowest paid O-lineman in the bunch is probably the best of them at this point and that isn't saying much.

Nope, the neglect over the past 3-5 years of this unit by McShit-fer-Brains is showing Whitworth held them all together last year because he was a true blue-chip talent even until the very end. We need a fresh rebuild starting at LT and LG where most of the Pass rush/pressures are coming from.

So if Arcuri is the answer at LT then so be it. But I am pretty sure the Rams will have to bring-in a Fisher or Remmers immediately to stabilize this problem area.

If they can trade for Austin Corbett again that would def be an improvement, but I am not sure the Rams can afford his new bigger contract.

I don’t understand Noteboom’s fall.

He looked great last season and was a stud against SF in the NFC championship.

Don’t know how a guy regresses that bad in one off-season.

Allen has always been bad except for last season. Caught lightning in a bottle and McVay continues to think he is the answer at Center.

Well, McShit-fer-Brains has no choice but to play Skura either at Center or Guard, Kolone is playing better at Center and Skura is actually better at Guard. So maybe we will see some combo of Skura and Kolone at Center and LG this week.

Don't know what has happened to Noteboom but he has allowed 22 total derogatory events against the QB this year through Week 5.

There are rumors he is going to go back to being a back-up but that depends on who they have to replace him. Could be Arcuri or maybe Fisher or Remmers who they'd have to sign say during the Bye Week.

I have this suspicion that this is going to get ugly before it gets resolved. Maybe the Rams can convince Stafford to give-up some of his big money with a contract re-structure so the Rams have the financial assets to give OBJ a sense that he is wanted. Dude's ego is so fragile.

I am surprised that the Rams low-balled him when they know they are hurting for WR help.

Also doesn’t help the supremely overpaid for a washed up Robinson to the tube of 15.5M per yr.

Think they could use that money to sign OBJ?

Also, low-balling OBJ is only going to piss him off to the point he doesn’t want to come back.

Yea I agree ALR. They gave Robinson way too much money and I don't know if there is a cut-clause in his contract once the season starts. They may have screwed themselves.

The ideal would be to release Robinson and take that money to pay OBJ but I am sure there would be dead money to pay, just when we got out from under a host of dead money contracts.

And this is the typical mea culpa from McShit-fer-Brains to try to offer a smoothie to not piss-off OBJ and have him run off to the Packers or Geeants or the Bills with his buddy Von Miller.

The Chiefs cut the promising OLB they poached from the Rams PS, Benton Whitley. The Rams should re-sign him to the PS and get rid of that very small RB Ronny Rivers.

^^^^^

That is why Akers isn’t the answer at RB.

How in the world do you miss a cut back lane so big a Mack truck could fit through it?

Shit, Akers missed both: The big hole in the left/center and the big hole on the right behind Jackson and Havenstein. He doesn't have the explosiveness and obviously the vision.

BTW, maybe the Rams really should decide to trade Akers and use his salary to sign OBJ. Insert Henderson and Brown in the Running Game and go after D'Ernest Johnson with the Browns.
