If they were going to trade a WR, Woods makes the most sense.
1) he offers the most cap relief if traded
2) he would garner better draft pick(s)
3) his play is very similar to OBJ’s and therefore easier to replace if the do indeed sign OBJ.
Trading Jefferson makes way less sense
1) he has a very low cap number
2) they won’t get back the 2nd round value they used on him in the first place
3) he is by far the best deep threat they have. He averaged 16 ypc last season. The next closest guy is Kupp at 13.4
They don’t need 4 WR’s that are exact mirrors of each other in Woods, Kupp, Robinson and OBJ.
Everyone knows Robinson has trouble creating separation and gets a lot of his catches on crossing routes and 50/50 jump balls.
They need a guy like Jefferson to provide a deep threat the other 4 guys don’t provide.
Why only one year?
You either have a hatred for Jefferson or you don’t like stats.Jefferson is not a deep threat. I’d rather have Woods than Jefferson. I don’t care about the 4th or 5th rounder for either
Staffford will throw deep to anyone. He’s not Jared Goff remember?
You either have a hatred for Jefferson or you don’t like stats.
Has to be one of the 2 for you to say Jefferson is not a deep threat.
Again, he led the team in ypc at 16.0
The next closest is Kupp at 13.4
Both Woods and OBJ were in the 12’s
Second, he has receptions of 79, 68, 67 and 52 this past season.
The highest Kupp had was 70 and it didn’t come until the playoffs. His season long was 59.
Woods long was 28 and OBJ had one 54 yarder.
He was 6th best receiver in the NFL this season in ypc.
That is a big difference for a guy you claim isn’t a deep threat. The one deep shot Stafford took in the SB was to Jefferson, who had Bates beat in the back of the end zone but Stafford threw it short.
You can’t throw deep if there is no one to throw deep to.Stafford throws deep to everyone. Jefferson is a not a #2 WR. Did you watch the Super Bowl? If his contract is up next year and he’s a #3 WR at best, why not move him after a good year? You could package VJ and a 5th and get another Corbett.
He also gets less targets and catches than Kupp so yeah stats are misleading. Lmao just because a guys YPC is high doesn’t make him a deep threat.
Then again I am talking to a guy that hated the Stafford move and still thinks Jared Goff could win a super bowl lol
A 6th though? You telling me they can't get at least.....a 4th rounder for him?You can’t throw deep if there is no one to throw deep to.
Jefferson had the 3 longest receptions of the regular season. That is not just a coincidence.
And the Rams can’t keep 3 WR’s making 15M per year and have a decent team all around. Something has to be sacrificed whether that be quality depth or quality starters at other positions. Especially with Stafford’s new extension that pays him $43M per year.
That’s 88M+ a year for 4 players. And that doesn’t even account for the new contract they need to give Donald to convince him to come back.
They need help on the OL still as well as the secondary and LB.
Where is the money coming from to address those weaknesses? They have to free up cap space somewhere, and trading Woods would be a logical place to start.
It pick is not surprising.A 6th though? You telling me they can't get at least.....a 4th rounder for him?
Hopefully the money they save by trading Woods goes to OBJ.They gotta bring back Beckham now.
Rams trade Robert Woods to Titans
The Rams are trading wide receiver Robert Woods to the Titans. Woods was having a good season in 2021 before he tore his ACL, and he was expected to recover and stay with the Rams in 2022. But afte…profootballtalk.nbcsports.com
Once again you forget. Stafford to Kupp vs Tampa? Last play of the game? You can’t throw deep if there is no one to throw deep to.

The market was set when Cooper was traded for A 5th and swap of 6th rounders, and he isn’t coming off an ACL Injury.A 6th though? You telling me they can't get at least.....a 4th rounder for him?
All a moot point now since Woods is gone.Once again you forget. Stafford to Kupp vs Tampa? Last play of the game?
Was that deep? Lol
