Woods maybe gone because of his age and he is returning from an ACL tear in the knee. It would be a good time to move him if they can get the right deal and the Rams should not consider giving Woods away like they did with Detroit on several occasions.

If AD goes, we have a bunch of options to go to and the Rams really do need to continue to plan to CYA for the eventual day that AD leaves which right now, might be earlier than we all expected. If he wants to go, I'd miss him and we would suffer a bit of a decline in our D but there is always the next AD out there.

Look, Father Time is undefeated and as Whitworth said in his retirement presser, his body just doesn't want to go anymore. AD may be in the same category. And if he takes a year off, so be it. I want to see just how good the Rams personnel development department is to find the next AD.

Repeating Snooperbowl wins is damn difficult and ya pretty much have to keep the team intact. Just ask freakin' Tommy, the last QB to do that. I suspect, the Rams may not repeat as several of the key pieces have left and/or may leave. Losing the leadership of Whitworth was huge and Miller's rental really did boost our D to the next level. If AD does go, we won't repeat because replacing Whitworth, Miller, and AD would be just too much for the team to overcome.

But if anyone can repeat while re-structuring the team both with coaches and players it would be McSnead. The Rams could easily get their cap hell back to a workable level and recover some of their draft capital lost in all of the snooperbowl team construction. I'd like to see the Rams find the next studs on both sides of the ball and come back in two years loaded even more for the next Lombardi.

Right now, a repeat is iffy, but we shall see has the season begins to progress.

Retro,

There is not always another AD. He is a once in a generation talent, like White and Taylor.

You can replace his position, not his talent and what he does for that defense because of the way opposing offenses scheme to stop him and open things up for everyone else.

Won’t have to worry about Packers next season.

Who is Rodgers going to throw to now?

Maybe one of the guys you just mentioned might be on the block from the Rams. Also, Beasley and Landry are newly available. Just some options, along with a talented draft crop.

He played well but let OBJ walk.

Kupp, Robinson, and Woods is a really good trio plus Van Jefferson and their TE's. There is no need for OBJ, spend the cash that would be used on him elsewhere.

Agreed. Providing he recovers well, I'd rather have Woods than OBJ, if I need to choose. That said, if Woods brings some strong draft capital in trade from a WR needy team like the Packers, maybe that move makes some sense.

Sure, it's good to have options.

O.K. Then the Rams can look in the next generation of the next super-talent. Deacon Jones and Merlin Olsen gave way to Reggie and Taylor and for us Kevin Green who was replaced by AD. So, the Rams can find the next one. Your exclusivity idea ALR, is not limited or inhibiting to make a defense just as good with players who are close. I don't think AD will retire just yet but ya never know.

Walking away at the height of his career at age 30 would be shocking to me. His talk about taking a few years off then coming back is crazy talk IMO; when have we seen that work in the NFL?

Jordan did it. Lol

Some people get burnt out especially when you’re trying to be the best. But if he does take off, he’s be back in 1-2 years for sure.

No guarantee that he's the same 1-2 years later though. Age takes it's toll whether you're on the field or not.

No guarantee 1 year off doesn’t help his body heal as well. His workouts are pretty impressive so I don’t doubt that man 1 bit

If he's continuing to work out that hard away from the league for a year or two, how much is he actually taking time off from? I still think it's just a bargaining chip to secure his bag.

I doubt they get a lot for Woods coming off that injury. Unless someone wants to throw us the farm which I doubt. Makes more sense to move Jefferson after his good year last year and I think his contract is up after next year. Who knows but I would bet Mcvay keeps all his WRs
If they were going to trade a WR, Woods makes the most sense.

1) he offers the most cap relief if traded
2) he would garner better draft pick(s)
3) his play is very similar to OBJ’s and therefore easier to replace if the do indeed sign OBJ.

Trading Jefferson makes way less sense

1) he has a very low cap number
2) they won’t get back the 2nd round value they used on him in the first place
3) he is by far the best deep threat they have. He averaged 16 ypc last season. The next closest guy is Kupp at 13.4

They don’t need 4 WR’s that are exact mirrors of each other in Woods, Kupp, Robinson and OBJ.

Everyone knows Robinson has trouble creating separation and gets a lot of his catches on crossing routes and 50/50 jump balls.

They need a guy like Jefferson to provide a deep threat the other 4 guys don’t provide.
