Rams signed ILB Bobby Wagner, formerly of the Seahawks, to a five-year, $50 million contract.

The deal is worth "up to" $65 million. This is one where you definitely need to wait on the true financials. It is unlikely the Rams have any guaranteed money committed to Wagner beyond 2023, and even for that season it might be minimal. Wagner had reportedly been seeking a one-year, $11 million pact. Although not quite the force he was during his long prime in Seattle, the soon-to-be 32-year-old has aged well, remaining highly effective in 2021. He is still capable of making big plays on all three downs, and will remain an every-snap player in Los Angeles.

I like it. I know Super Bowl winners don't repeat these days but they are at least trying and filling holes as they appear. Still hoping they hang on to OBJ so he's ready for another playoff run.

I refuse to acknowledge this signing. Our front Office sucks...

Hopefully it's all guaranteed so I feel better but I know it's really just 5 years to spread out the cap and probably just guaranteed money for year 1 and SB

This is why a couple of weeks ago I bet some money on the Rams to win the SB next year. Obviously Wagner isn't the same guy he used to be, but if he is even somewhat close, this is just a Huge signing.

Its the NFL. We need the contract details (guaranteed money, incentives, etc) to be able to evaluate.

My guess is that they are hoping to get 3 years out of him.

3 years is probably heavy even. I bet you the hit to let him go after a single season isnt even that crazy. But 2 years seems like the zone.

People look at his age....but there actually have been a lot of MLB's over the course of their careers that have played really well into their mid 30's especially when they are as heady as Wagner is.

Wow, this surprises me .. I thought the Rams were cash strapped, also Bobby is getting up there, BUT he’s still productive… He’s a physical beast..
