This. The Colts took over momentum and made a game of it. Same thing happens regardless of the reason McGloin is in there. Starting it earlier would just have shifted momentum sooner.

No, you're the idiot, because up 19 with that much time left, is enough for a team to come back. Not only that, the Raiders are notorious for giving up big plays that would have the Colts scoring fast. Plus, when Carr wrnt out, the Colts got it to a 1 possession game.

You rarely see teams pull their QB, up 19 in the beginning of the 4th. Matter of fact, did any teams do it this year?

Yeah I don't disagree with leaving him in with that much time left. 2nd and 22 though that is either run a screen to see if you can pick up some of the yards or quick pass to try and get into a reasonable 3rd down or just run it to keep the clock going. The odds are not great that you get a 1st down in that situation anyway so then running deep routes causing your QB to have to hold onto the ball for longer is just asking for trouble.

And we just have to remember that bad things happen sometimes. It is the way of the NFL.

Beyond that the Colts are known as a team that can score in a hurry. They are a deep pass threat offense. Heck we saw it in this game how quickly they can turn the momentum. Too much on the line for the Raiders at that point to pull the players.
