Looking back at the schedule you are right. Thought we had been scored on more than that. Maybe because fourth quarter was always playing catch up.
But actually there were only 3 or 4 legit teams that we played, and yes I am one of the Nebraska fans that put Iowa there.
Iowa is middle of the B1G and right now probably a step ahead of Nebraska. What I am counting on though is that your rebuild always takes two or three years to get a good team. Hopefully by then we will have a system in place that allows us to compete with the upper tier on a regular basis..

Nebraska will compete for the division every year basically as will Iowa and Wisconsin. Every once in awhile NW or Minnesota will be good.

I was surprised when they hired Riley from OSU. Didn't make any sense to me unless they were looking for an anti-Pelini type who could hold down the fort until Frost was ready to step in.

Always wondered what Nebraska fans thought about it then, and Riley now after a couple of seasons.

Well...

Knowing the parameters laid down upon Eichorst after he fired Pelini this was his agenda:

1. Current coach of an FBS team, preferably a P5 coach
2. A .500 or better record
3. Over 20 years of coaching experience

While Pelini was an abhorrent asshole, the hiring of a "nice guy" was the least of concerns in hiring a new coach.

Is Riley the answer? Hard to know after 2 years with players he didn't recruit. Especially at QB. Team got better this year, but not as much as the 9-3 vs 5-7 records may indicate. We still sucked when it mattered and got whipped by Ohio State and crapped on by that shit team coached by the Friends of Ferentz.

This is probably Riley's last year unless he gets Nebraska to the Conference Championship game. There are too many idiots and strongholds to "tradition" that won't allow for more humiliation to happen without Tom Osborne's approval.
