Wasn't he sitting with the scouts on opening day? If I remember correctly, Kruk and Kuip were talking about him learning from the best. They might have been bull shitting and Burrell wanted to sit in that section because it was right behind home plate.

I remember reading that he does have a scout job with the Giants for 2012. He was "training" at being a scout during spring training, sitting with other Giants' scouts behind the plate.

He is a scout for the G's. Seeing as the giants start a series with the Phils on Monday, I would guess that PTMFB is in Philly to advance scout so he is doing this ceremony while there.

I don't see this as a problem either. Cool that he appreciates the team he spent most of his time with.
