Growing up in Ohio I still watch the Buckeyes from time to time and my first thought of watching him was that if I had a kid in Middle School that threw the ball the way he did I would tell him to find another position because QB is nowhere in his future. Everything about his mechanics are garbage
I don't think there is a coach in the world that would think like this at that age. Living in Pennsylvania, I remember watching him a few times playing in high school at Jeanette, and, although he was used at receiver a little (because of his height and speed), he definitely stood out at quarterback. Big, quick, shifty kid with a booming arm (especially for a high school kid); he was a man among the boys.
Now, I do agree with you about his mechanics. And he may not make a good NFL quarterback. But given his talents as a duel threat, and how successful they can be throughout JV, high school and college, I don't see any reason why they wouldn't use him at quarterback.
Alot of hype for a non qb in supplemental draft is this normal.
