Ken Stabler nominated as Seniors Committee candidate for Hall of Fame

Ken Stabler has been selected as one of two nominees from the Hall of Fame's Seniors Committee, per NBCSports.com.

Stabler, who died in July at the age of 69, is the only quarterback from the NFL's All-1970s team not in the Hall of Fame. He was the 1974 NFL MVP and guided the Raiders to their first Super Bowl win in 1977 by beating the Vikings 32-14.

Stabler also had a brief stint with the Oilers, but left the Raiders as the all-time leader in completions (1,486), passing yards (19,078), and touchdown passes (150). He was a finalist on the regular ballot three times without having been voted in.

The Hall also announced its second senior nominee as well: guard Dick Stanfel. He was a part of two NFL Championships in Detroit in the 1950s, earning him a spot on the all-decade team. He also served as the offensive line coach for the 1985 Bears. Stanfel has been nominated by the Seniors Committee twice in the past. Stanfel died in June, at age 87.

Favre is a lock

Harrison and Owens have some compelling cases.

Sam Mills and Karl Mecklenberg should get in.

Why isn't Steve Atwater in yet? 8 Pro Bowls, 2x first team, 2 SB rings & a member of the pro football HOF 1st team all decade team (1990's) isn't enough to get in?:noidea:

Favre obviously. Deserving WRs are starting to stack up. TO would be my pick if I could pick only one of them. Atwater and Lynch at DB....Pace & maybe Coryell.

I've pretty much come to the conclusion that Jerry Kramer is going to have to die before he gets in, which is a joke.
