Was hoping the Rangers could grab him but with that deal...no. Not as bad as the Pujols deal but still really bad.

Like the Pujols deal it won't be too bad the first couple of years. If either gets their team at least one ring, either contract might be worth it. However, both will be albatross' on their teams towards then end of the contract if they aren't consistently playing late in October.

makes no sense for a team that has 2 players that can not play any position but 1st and DH to add a player who can only play 1 position. they'll be okay this coming season (2012) but what they do in 2013 & 2014 when they have 3 players and only 2 positions for them

Miguel can play third.

Cabrera hasn't played any 3rd since 2008 when he was recognized as a defensive liability there. in 2007 with the Marlins he played 153 games at 3rd committing 23 errors and in 2008 he only played 14 games at 3rd, committing 5 errors, before the Tigers moved him across the diamond.

Fielder is actually not bad defensively for a guy his size. He is surprisingly light on his feet.

Miguel may or may not work at third. It will depend on if he can drop some weight and show some improvement at the position. If not they could possibly move him to LF. Maybe that would be better anyway because I don't think they should force Inge out of his spot because of this sudden logjam.

Cabrera in that huge outfield would be just as funny/bad. Anything hit there would instantly turn in to extra bases. Did you see him get beat on the throw home from Cruz in the ALCS by 15 feet?
