are shocked that Elway is cleaning house and even more surprised at some thinking Gase would be retained and even elevated to HC. That completely defeats the purpose. Elway knows that an "attitude adjustment"is needed. Most of the pieces were there for them to succeed this yr. Coaching has everything to do with it IMO. How many times have we seen the Broncos come out flat and under-perform in crucial games. Elway knows he has to bring in a coach/coaches how will instill and demand attitude and effort every game. Look,I like Fox and Gase but they don`t have what it takes to get the most out of their players and motivate them like they need to be in big games. Sure, they could keep everybody intact this yr and sweep thru the AFC West again and crumble and die in the PO`s once more. Rio is and has always been mediocre and does not have the inteligence to game plan for teams or make proper adjustments during games. He pretty much runs the same D for 4 qtrs no matter who he plays. I feel sorry for Raiders if they hire him as HC. Way,way way out of his league. I`am extremely glad Elway is doing this. He knows thwy would never reach a SB with this coaching staff now. Elway ( reported from one of his very closest friends( Shannon Sharpe) said he was extremely upset after loss and told "all" coaches that " although you are all still under contract, you have permission to test the field regardless if we decide to retain you. I not sold on the presumption by many that Manning will be back next yr.Elway has a big decision to make whether he wants to gamble on him. What are the odds that Manning next yr performs excellent for the first 10 gms or so and then wears down or gets injured and then he limps into the play offs again and another poor outing and one and done. Pretty strong I think. He has to be concerned about that and just might have to consider letting Oz take the reins from the get- go and see what he can do. Also, if Manning isn`t retained by Denver as their starting qb, I don`t think Manning will try and do it all over again with a dif team. I think he calls it quits if not the starter for Denver this yr. Maybe he ends up tutoring Oz as their Qb coach. I`ll be interested to see who Elway brings in and the names that intrigue me are Quinn and Arizona DC and just this inkling I got, that maybe ( since he resigned and didn`t retire) is Dick LeBeou . Maybe that`s why he resigned????? I don`t know but whoever it is expect that guy to be well respected for attitude, disscipline and a "no nonsence" kind of guy. It`s time no doubt for this team with this much talent, to achieve the goal that`s there for them to reach out and grab!

The blood is on Peyton's hands. He just fucked over a bunch of coaches and their families by being too proud to sit his injured ass down.

You guys deserve better than that ego maniac.

I haven't read the first post yet, but this response is really dumb. If Manning was all powerful, the gameplan wouldn't have changed when Elway suggested it change.

That`s when a good coaching staff realizes he`s struggling and you over-ride him and give Oz a shot and at least see what he can bring. I`ll bet alot of players by the 3rd qtr would not have minded seeing Oz run in there.

Dick LeBeou is to old so i don't see that happening but I do agree what you said about the coaching staff.

That's a good point, but does Peyton have control over taking himself out of games? Seems like the kind of guy who would override the staff. But I agree you totally. If that is what happened then I understand the staff firings better.

Should Rodgers sit as well if he has a terrible game versus the Seahawks. Take him out at halftime? Ego maniac really with a team that supports and stands behind Suh and his garbage on the field. Manning didn't do the firing and Adam Gase and J.D.R. were leaving for head coaching jobs anyway. Why do some people not understand that? Yes there are many more assistant coaches but you are way off on this.

They were leaving anyway when it comes to Gase and J.D.R. Do you understand that at all?

So let them leave by simply taking new jobs instead of firing them. How hard is that.

And a hobbled Rodgers is waaaay better than even a healthy Peyton. Apples to oranges.

Better for Manning to go out this way then to go out like Farve and spend an entire season looking old, slow, and tired.

Elway went in this morning guns blazing.....

Some of the player reactions on twitter are a bit concerning. This is gonna be a really different looking team next year. That we can all be sure of.

First, thanks John Fox. Not at all surprised though. If you lose two home playoff games that you are heavily favored in and get blown out in a SB where you are also favored you don't keep your job especially working for Elway when your QB is Manning.

I was very disappointed in the game plan yesterday and more specifically that there was no adjustments throughout the game and halftime. I believe the Bronco coaches have been out coached in several games this year including some wins. I was very disappointed in JDR's defense again. No kidding, he had Moore over 40 yards off the LOS several times. The Colts converted at least two third downs because of the depth of Moore. The bend don't break, sit back, defense caught up to them yesterday.

As far as the players are concerned they all liked Fox and their reactions was not very surprising. It will be a very interesting offseason. A guy like Bruce Arians would be perfect for this team.

Fox was definitely a player's coach so the reactions are expected. He simply is not a take charge coach who imposed his will on the team.

Maybe Elway should look in the mirror. Fox didn't bring in the players. Elway did. Manning isn't the only reason the Broncos lost yesterday......he doesn't play defense. The defense gave up 24, not Manning. You all were extremely excited last August with Talib, Ward, Warebeing added to what was already considered a pretty damn good defense.

So now a lot of you got your wish......Fox is gone and so are most of the coaching staff. Who is Elway going to bring in now? He just took all of the blame and placed it on the coaching staff and doesn't take any himself. Like Bill Parcells once said..."If you want me to cook the dinner, you damn well better let me buy the groceries."

What good does bringing in all these players do if you have a coach who doesn't know how ti use them properly? You could have a team full of Hall of Fame Defenders but if you're DC refuses to blitz or change up is playcalling then you'll get picked apart all game and that's what happened to Denver yesterday.

Elway had a meeting with the coaches over a month ago and told them he wasn't happy how the players were being used and I agree. To play R Moore your FS off the ball 40 yards off the LOS is ridiculous. This defense reacts they don't dictate. They have the DB's who can play an aggressive bump and run and far too many times this season they played off, way off. You're exactly right Ken, Elway brought those players in to play a aggressive style game not a bend don't break defense.
