Just look at the top 10 at the position right now. Not many later rounders in the bunch.
Expect it? Who said expect it? I said don't completely deny it can happen.
Is there any besides Brady? Luck, Ben, Manning, Rivers, Rodgers, Brees, Cam, Wilson was a 3rd rounder I guess. Then you have Tannehill, Ryan, Flacco, Eli, Stafford, Cutler, Romo who was of course a late rounder. Then even the good young guys were taken early. Mariota, Bortles, Carr, Teddy, Jameis.Just look at the top 10 at the position right now. Not many later rounders in the bunch.
I don't think most people are arguing that McCarron COULD be a great find/steal guy. It's just that history shows that guys drafted late are MORE LIKELY to not be a franchise type QB.Okay, all I wanted to hear you say was it was possible. So since I got what I wanted, I guess we are good. I know most good quarterbacks are 1st rounders, it is pretty obvious. Just that once in a while you find one, and you never know who that is going to be. Could be McCarron, he could also be a flop like most other mid to late round QB's.
Anyone COULD be a great QB, Hell Keith Wenning could flip the switch while he was on the practice squad and be the next Tom Brady. Is it going to happen? No.I don't think most people are arguing that McCarron COULD be a great find/steal guy. It's just that history shows that guys drafted late are MORE LIKELY to not be a franchise type QB.

Nah it's really not.Once again, you give a definitive "NO" on Wenning. The point I have been making here the whole damn time is to not use definitive answers when regarding the future of a player. Andy Dalton "COULD" reel off 3 consecutive SB victories and be the next greatest QB of all time. Is it "likely"? No. Is it "possible"? Yes.
