February 3rd (Games outside of the rankings)

I recently read on ESPN.com that Nebraska has a chance to make the NCAA tourney. And since it's now February, I guess we can now begin to talk about that stuff.
And that means that games outside of the Top 25 will become more important, as you'll soon see. (All times are Eastern)

Notre Dame @ NC State (12:00)
    Houston @ UCF (12:00)
    Miami @ Virginia Tech (2:00)
(This should be a great contest!)
    South Carolina @ Texas A&M (2:00)
    Providence @ Marquette (2:30)
    Florida State @ Louisville (4:00)
    Vermont @ UMBC (4:00)
    Oregon @ Stanford (5:00)
    Georgia @ Mississippi State (6:00)
    USC @ UCLA (6:00) (Another great-looking game.)
    UAB @ Old Dominion (7:00)
    UNLV @ Boise State (8:00)

And by the way, is anybody paying attention to woman's basketball at all? No? Well, since UConn is still undefeated, I don't blame you.

I guess I'll put it in this thread but you know who has by far the most bizarre resume??

    Temple

They have really good wins over Auburn, Clemson, Wichita State and @ SMU

They even have some decent wins against UConn, Wisconsin, South Carolina and Old Dominion

yet some absolutely awful losses against teams like La Salle, our first president, at home against Tulane and Memphis plus they have a large number of losses at this point

There really isn't anyone on the bubble with that resume of wins, yet at the same time they also have many bad losses.

6 ranked teams go down to unranked opponents yesterday. Xavier had to go to OT to win over an unranked opponent and Purdue and MSU both won by only 1 possession.

Hey, @jeffro151! What do you make of Villanova, Nevada, Auburn, and Purdue going down yesterday (Oh, and Virginia almost losing, too)?

Just another day in this crazy basketball season. While UVa did almost lose, they still covered the spread, so they did as expected.

February 10th (Games outside of the Top 25)

By 8:30 P.M tonight, we'll know if the Virginia Cavaliers are truly ready to have the #1 ranking. Also today, we'll see if Xavier can win at Creighton, if Purdue can recover from their recent loss, and if Nevada can FINALLY win a game as a ranked team.

Oh, and here are the big games that are OUTSIDE of all this: (All times are Eastern)

    Northwestern @ Maryland (12:00)
    Texas @ TCU (2:00)
    Mississippi State @ Missouri (2:00)
Florida State @ Notre Dame (4:00)
Rutgers @ Nebraska (4:00) [Nebraska's getting REAL close to being a true NCAA tourney team!]
    Seton Hall @ Georgetown (4:00)
    Penn @ Harvard (4:00)
UL-Lafayette @ Georgia Southern (5:00) [The Cajuns just suffered their first loss in the Sun Belt last Thursday, losing to Georgia State 106-92. One more loss like that, and we can say "bye-bye" to UL-Lafayette's chances at a at-large NCAA bid.]
North Texas @ Middle Tennessee (6:00)
    UCLA @ Arizona State (7:00)
    Wyoming @ UNLV (8:00)

February 17th (Games outside of the Top 25 and other thoughts)

Okay. When I first started this thread, I thought we would enjoy all of the teams duking it out for conference titles and NCAA berths. But after I look back at what's been happening in the CBB world over the past 3 weeks, maybe I should have renamed it "Can ANYONE survive?".
I mean, we have teams like Texas Tech and Auburn hitting it big this season!

Oh well. At least things will start to wind down come next Sunday. Until then, here are games outside of the Top 25 worth watching: (All times are Eastern)

    SMU @ UCF (11:00 A.M)
    Syracuse @ Miami (12:00)
    Providence @ Butler (12:00)
    Alabama @ Kentucky (2:00)

Notre Dame @ Boston College (4:00)
New Mexico State @ Seattle (4:00)
Middle Tennessee @ Louisiana Tech (7:00)
    Colorado @ Washington (8:00)
    Oregon @ UCLA (10:15)
