I feel like this is really a good time to do this, as this Michigan game could very well be the swing game for Bo Pelini in either a positive or negative direction. There is a lot at stake, really.....

I'd like you to answer each of the following hypotheticals:

1) If Nebraska were to get run out of its own stadium Saturday night by Michigan, where do you see Bo Pelini in 5 years?

2) If Nebraska beats Michigan by 2 TDs or more, where do you see Bo Pelini in 5 years?

And now for the non-hypothetical questions:

1) Where do you see Bo Pelini in 5 years? If you still see him at Nebraska, what are his accomplishments? If not, what do you believe will end up being the straw that broke thee camel's back?

I'll hang up now and listen to your responses :pop2:

1. that depends. we have some promising recruits coming in. i don't see his job being in jeopardy this year. the new AD must be aware of what Pedey did, and won't want to repeat that. if his teams improve in future years, he will still be here. if not, he will be either coaching a non AQ school or a defensive coach for an NFL team.

2. same. this year doesn't matter as far as his job. it is next year and the year after that matter.

(non-hypothetical)

1. how is this not hypothetical? if he is at nebraska he has won a conference title. if he is not at nebraska, our record has continued to decline with each passing year.

First off, the first 2 questions I meant in terms of "where do you see the program heading if we blow out Michigan or get blown out by Michigan"............because I could see a lot of momentum, either positive or negative, coming from this one game alone.....

Secondly, the main question "where do you see Bo Pelini in 5 years?" is non-hypothetical.........because there is no hypothetical to it.........there is no "what if".........it's just "where do you see him"....

En sech.

ah gotcha. i thought it as hypothetical because it could go 1 of 2 ways...either he does well or he doesn't. i think he will do well.

I hear ya on how it could be hypothetical.......I actually thought about it before I posted it, but then I thought "nah.....it's really by definition a non-hypo"

Anyways, looking forward to hearing some more predictions en sech.

Bo's stock is taking some damage hits this season. If we get blown up, again, I give him one year before he "gets a new opportunity"
If we win and can salvage a bcs bowl berth type season it will pay huge dividends for the future, not just Bo's future. Where I see Bo in 5 years is a coaching capacity in the NFL, DC probably.

I do not see Nebraska winning a CCG in the next 5 years.
Therefore, I do not see Nebraska getting back to the elite (Top 5) in the next 5 years.

I see Bo Pelini as a defensive coordinator in the NFL in the next 5 years.

Y'all may not want to hear it, but Nebraska could very easily be (3-4) (0-3) right now.
They are a mere 4 pts away from it.

The only way Bo is not the head coach at Nebraska in 5 years is if he leaves himself. He looks for a new job every off season. We won't fire him but he will leave.

Agreed

I think he'll be gone on his own in 5 years, win or lose.

That is an interesting take on it......

I am a bit concerned about the fact that we hired an AD who we don't know anything about........

But with that said, I don't think Bo will ever just leave on his own. He's too stubborn. He's one of those guys who reminds me of my dad. He'll just keep coming back for more until he gets it figured out.........as long as we allow him to keep coming back for more.

I think he is honestly obsessed with turning Nebraska into the program it once was......and I think he is possibly starting to realize that his "process" is going to need some tweaking.

If he does leave on his own, then he never really cared about the outcome of Nebraska Football.........that's all I have to say about that.

Like I said, I think he makes himself sick every single night trying to figure out how to return Nebraska to the Glory Days.........and eventually he's got to figure out that he doesn't have it figured out.

Getting back to basic fundamental football would be a good start.

And give the fucking starting 11 defenders back their damn Blackshirts in fall practice 2013.

Fuckin' douchebag.

Bill Snyder is trying to give every young Head Coach the road map to success..........hell, he's laying it right out in front of the entire nation........

Agreed......it's fundamentals. It's simplifying things. It's coming up with a plan, and sticking to it..........not some weird process.........but a simple plan.

Bo doesn't give 2 shits about getting Nebraska back to the glory days!!!! All he cares about winning. It doesn't matter where it is.

It is hard to say that he will just keep coming back until he gets it right when he has actively looked for a new job each of the last 2 years.

BTW, I am not criticizing him for that not do I hold it against him for looking. He can do what he wants.

I think the media gets a litttttle carried away with the whole "actively looking for a new job" shit......

He answered the phone when Miami called..........that was literally the extent of that. He listened to what they had to say and told them he wasn't interested.....

The next day we are all on here talking about how Bo is headed to Miami......

If that is what you want to believe then that is good for you.

Hey, you're making assumptions jest as much as I am........

I'm of course just believing what Bo said the day following the one single call he took from Miami..........I don't know why he would need to lie about it.
