You didnt even know that Wentz was on a great contract in the next two years if he remains the starter and does well this year. We took a risk to acquire a vet QB who has upside. IF Wentz does fail this year, it would probably be TH to play then Howell. Heck I would play Howell but he is not the best QB right now on the team like you said.

Not homerism at all. I understand why they made the trade. If this works it will be one of the greatest trades that this team has ever made.
Nor did I care if he had that contract! Wince has no upside, if he did we would have seen it by now in either Philly or Indy. Where are you getting this stuff from?

I understand why they made the trade and it has everything on earth to do with hoping to sell incompetence! We all saw the move to sign Fitzpatrick, we all witnessed the move to Heinicke, and now, they and you are selling, "If this works" on a guy who by all standards is on his last chance to do something that he hasn't exhibited as a starter since 2017. Well, good luck with all of that, and you should look forward to the commissioner of the league soon thereafter saying... "With the 8th pick in the 2023 NFL draft, the Washington Commanders select..."

FACT! You had no idea Wentz is signed with us for the next two years at cheap starting QB money at the time of the trade or after the trade. I had to actually prove it to you through the internet.

The team didn't think much of TH to make the trade
C'mon Man, nobody thought much of Taylor Heinicke! In my circle, no one thought much of R. Fitzpatrick and certainly, no one thinks much of Carson Wince! This organization is playing on the blind homerism of its following by inflicting pain and after lessening that pain wants them all to affirm that they feel better because the pain is not as intense. Football crazy people do this routinely!! Don't believe me? Take these and call me in the morning...

Ryan Fitzpatrick, a career backup and a supposed upgrade over what they had. (Worse to bad)
Taylor Heinicke, his heart is bigger than his body, and limited physical talents. (bad)
Now comes Carson Wince, a supposed upgrade over Heinicke and failure everywhere that he's been (2017 year in Philly excepted) Bad to still bad, but not as bad)

Again, I didn't care enough to look at it beyond the one year that he'll be on the team.

RR wanted Fitz and Wentz. RR went and got them. TH was an emergency QB

You should care b/c if he doesn't do well we don't owe him any gmoney. IF he does do well he is a cheap starting QB for the next two years. That is incentive for this team. So that matters

The team doesn't feel that way that is why they made the trade. If TH had this moxsie you are talking about, why werent teams call us to trade for him after we acquired wentz? Of course you have us failing miserably this year. Not surprised.
"The team didn't feel that way?" That's the basis upon which you want to stake your reasoning? Moxie isn't talent sir, it's an intangible! No one was calling Heinicke before team desperate dialed his number either. It turns out NOBODY was calling Indy to trade for Wince before team desperate dialed their number either.

Two years running Dean, I had correctly called their record as 7 wins in year one and 5 wins 7 if they got lucky last year. I dare you to compare my spot-on predictions to yours during that span. You'll just have to wait to see this year's prediction. I'll bet that it will be dead-on again!

I'm guess your will have us under 7.5 wins this year. If so make the bet. Bet the under and you will win money if you are so confident. Im putting my money where my mouth is and will be the over.

RR should have been fired for incompetence for both moves, but team desperate won't do that because they see him as better than anyone that they can get, sad!! I told you that Fitz wouldn't take a snap for the team and missed that prediction by 16 snaps or about as close as one can get to making such predictions.

You'll just have to wait to see my prediction. It's almost ready and likely done in 5 to 7 days. BTW: if it turns out that way, it will be an improvement over the 5 wins (7 if they are lucky) that I predicted last year. I'm pretty sure that I'll have room for luck and its role in such predictions.

One could ask the question as to why teams didn't call Indy to trade for Wentz.

We were the only ones stupid enough to do it.

NOPE!! I don't care because he won't be here beyond 2022. Wince is Wince, he is not some hidden gem waiting for the right circumstance to bring it all out. HE must have it within himself to display that type of improvement. Philly and Indy gave him every opportunity to show, and he failed!! RR and Co. are playing you man and like a fish, you're biting on "IF!"

You could have a point but if he works out its a great trade for us talent and contract wise.

LOL!!

You beat me to it.

If you literally say that to yourself and read it again, it actually sounds like a fireable offense. Our coach literally wanted a 38-year-old journeyman and a QB bust who was run out of town twice in 2 years to take the reins of his team.

And this is the front office you have faith in right Dean? This is the front office that is doing "good" as you say?

According to our beat writer (Keim), we literally called every team in the league looking for a QB. Sports Illustrated said we called "many" teams looking for a QB. I am not sure another front office in the history of the NFL ever started randomly calling every NFL team trying to get a QB.

We are the laughing stock of the NFL. The fact our GM/President/coach had multi offseasons to prep for acquiring a QB and the best he did was Fitzpatrick and Wentz is unacceptable. Hopefully, the nightmare is over after this season.

Talent-wise? You said he is a top 16 QB? I would say top 20. Some sites have him between 25-27.
That is not a talented QB...that is a serviceable QB. We are NOT and have never been just a QB away. That has been debunked numerous times.

The Brunell trade was much better and the results showed.

I think Dean and others think Wentz is the 2nd coming of Kurt Warner or something. He will magically find his game and lead us to victory! Pederson wanted him out...Reich wanted him out. I have never been given an answer regarding if this concerns people.

Reich actually fell on the sword to Irsay and had to apologize for the gross error. Groveling at the feet of an owner due to the poor play of a QB is something I would think rarely happens. Reich is an offensive guru and he gave up while admitting to the mistake. By all accounts, Matt Ryan is thriving in camp and the team could not be happier. We are idiots!

So...I guess Rivera thinks he is smarter thank Reich and immediately jumped on the phone to Indy...sigh

When do we get out of this circus...anybody???

Who cares what the team thinks? In two years, they have not had a winning season. Historically speaking, this coach only has 3 winning seasons in 11.

I was against the hire from the start and was right. The fact that people actually have confidence and faith in this front office is astounding.
