I get it, everyone wants to win but it is baffling to note the lengths that people will go to in order to seemingly justify moves made by this organization. @Dean displays a classic example of this when he insists that "IF it works out, it will be the greatest trade in team history" on the one hand and "IF it doesn't there's no Gmoney to have to worry about."LOL!!
You beat me to it.
If you literally say that to yourself and read it again, it actually sounds like a fireable offense. Our coach literally wanted a 38-year-old journeyman and a QB bust who was run out of town twice in 2 years to take the reins of his team.
And this is the front office you have faith in right Dean? This is the front office that is doing "good" as you say?
According to our beat writer (Keim), we literally called every team in the league looking for a QB. Sports Illustrated said we called "many" teams looking for a QB. I am not sure another front office in the history of the NFL ever started randomly calling every NFL team trying to get a QB.
We are the laughing stock of the NFL. The fact our GM/President/coach had multi offseasons to prep for acquiring a QB and the best he did was Fitzpatrick and Wentz is unacceptable. Hopefully, the nightmare is over after this season.
Here's a question, the move to get Wince is good for him and it buys time for Rivera, but what of the other 53+ players on this team who sacrifice their short careers on experiments? We all know that they aren't going to get to or win the SB with guys like Fitzpatrick, Heinicke, or Wince. So what's the goal here,? treading water? threatening to make a quick playoff visit? sell empty hope? Well, if that's what RR is doing, then he has to expect that he won't get the very best out of his team because he's not doing the same for them at what's universally become known as the most important position in the game.
