There's a couple of guys who could be good 3rd or 4th line or 7th/8th D guys, but no top-6 talent left.

Damn, I wanted him to come back. If used properly, limiting him to 3rd line and PP duty, the guy can still find the back of the net. His big issue last year was a severe drop off toward the end of the season. We'll see how he handles the back to back games but a shortened season should help him.

i really don't think the canucks are going to get a big return for luongo.. everyone knows they want to move him, and he's got a contract that isn't exactly desirable. look at nash.. superstar player, bad contract, the feeling that he has to be moved, and look what it got the jackets.. now add in the fact that he isn't even a starter if he stays, and you have the luongo situation

expecting anything more than a 1st round pick and a middle of the road prospect is relying on some GM to be bat-shit crazy IMO

Can't compare what Howson does to anything else any being with intelligence above broccoli is likely to do.

Luongo has plenty of value and everyone knows it. He's a number one goalie who is so well liked by teammates that they wanted to make him captain. That's worth a LOT.

And I would GUARANTEE that five or six other GMs lost their minds when it was announced what landed Nash.
