Is it still fair that Peguero is in the top 10 when he's been injured?

Still pretty good list.

I think so. Peguero and Brown project out to be almost the same player, and he is still the same age as Brown. Peguero has put up nice numbers so far, so there is no reason to relegate him to Siberia.

I have no prob with any arguments on my list, though. It was put together REAL fast...

In THAT case... ;)

I think Cavan has overtaken Noonan at 2B. Decent power/speed combo from a non-offensive position. If he keeps it up, I could see him pushing the top 10.

And who's Jones? Chuckie Jones?

I agree on Cavan, but in my eyes, he has 2 things going against him...

1) He was nowhere near my radar last year.
2) I have not heard ANYONE mention him as a prospect after his OK year last year and OK performance so far this year.

When he is not mentioned by ANYONE (that I have read, at least), and puts up only slightly impressive numbers (his peripherals are not all that impressive), I tend to err on the side of non-prospect.

Yes, Chuckie Jones.

True. That was my worry, I don't think I've ever heard his name mentioned anywhere.

What level is Jones? Rookie Ball? I don't see him on any rosters yet.

How legit is Surkamp ? I've seen his impressive numbers, but do you think that he will actually be the one to make Durty expendable ?

He played rookie last year and looked REAL good (the G's signed him early and he got a full 1/2 season in). Because he came out of HS, I guess the G's decided to keep him in extended ST and will have him start in Salem Kaizer this year. MAYBE have him end the year in SJ as a reinforcement? He is only 19, I think, so there is no rush on him.

Surkamp probably projects to a low-end 3 to elite 5. If he factors into any Durty deal, it would be as a filler until Wheeler is ready. Wheeler is the TRUE Durty replacement. I would not be completely destroyed if Surkamp is dealt as a primary piece in a biggish deal. He is near MLB ready (he could get his feet wet this Sept, then compete for a #5 or long role out of ST on some teams).

What do you think about Neal ?

p.s.

Sorry for all the questions XD. I live in FL, so the only time I ever get to see some of our prospects is on trips to Augusta.

I dont get to see them either :( I just read a lot of sites and pay attention to their boxes each day...

I, personally dont think he will be any kind of game changer, but I do think he is legit. He has not had a bad year yet in pro ball. I suspect he will be given a chance to take a starting job in spring '12 (along with Brown and Peguero).

I expect a player about on the level of Nate, but they do not play the same game at all. He is more of a bat while Nate is a defensive specialist.

I do not see Ssory Doc on the team next year, mainly because of Neal and Brown. I also expect Nate to be dealt at some point between now and ST because of these two guys, and I think Nate has shown himself to be valuable, so we may actually get a decent return for him.

Come the off season, there should be a LOT of smallish trades by the Giants in a mini-sell off to make room for the kids.

In other words, probably a Cody Ross calibre player, but cheaper?

Speaking of Peguero, he's back in San Jose. Now, He is playing CF and Brown is DHing, I know Brown needs some work on his D, but where do you put him? Is Peguero being promoted before Brown? Are they both being promoted?

I wonder...

Peguero is playing today?

Awesome.

We have a shit load of decent OF prospects right now. The G's will end up losing some guys that would have been considered high prospects in this org just a couple years back (Kieschnic, I suspect will end up being one of the casualties).

Brown is supposed to be a good defensive player, but I saw a clip of him and his D was a bit rough. Hopefully more time will get him the feel out there. He clearly has the speed (supposed to be Ford-level), so if he is not AU out there, he should be fine. I suspect he will be given every opportunity to keep the CF job.

I expect Brown to go to Richmond within a couple weeks, and Peguero will likely stay in SJ since he hasnt played all year. He will be pushed for CF time with Parker, though.

Probably a bit better, but who knows until he gets to the bigs. He could be John Bowker, he could be Nick Swisher...

He's been up for a couple games actually. I had no idea. But boy, I'd love to see Brown and Peguero both promoted to AA, play CF and RF and force Kieschnick's hand to improve.

I think the fact that Peguero played in A ball last year will allow him to be promoted the same rate as Brown (if he can hit). Hitting .375 thus far (including his 3 AB's tonight).

Nice list; I'll put something up next week on this but I'd include Adrianza and maybe Westcott.
