I'm glad you posted this Cali. Guys on the NFL Network pointrd this out. Watch for #39 on NO. He is jogging, as is another defender. When Matt Jones gets across our 40 instead of heading full speed after him #39 peels back and takes on one of the Redskins blockers. I've never seen that before.

Thank you Mr Ryan for having a defense that allowed us to have a great day.

The coaches challenged the players, as they often do, at the start of the week, but Goldson spearheaded the mind-set on the field. The combination led to intense practices as the first-team offense had a few periods to face the first-team defense this week. Both sides would typically face just the scout team to prepare for an opponent, but these matchups lack the same energy and aggression.

“We just got after each other man,” defensive end Jason Hatcher said. “The coaches coached their [butts] off man. They were holding guys accountable. The team was holding guys accountable, and we just had a great day of practice. Luckily for us, we brought it to the game.”

The Redskins even had starters duking it out in 1-on-1 periods, pitting cornerbacks against wide receivers and linebackers against running backs, during a portion of practice that was open to the media. These periods incorporated a little more physicality than usual, particularly with veterans DeSean Jackson, DeAngelo Hall and Chris Culliver returning to full strength during the battles against wide receivers and cornerbacks.
