WR*Chris Boyd*The 6-foot-4, 210-pound Boyd probably would have been drafted if not for his involvement in a r*pe case last summer. He was accused of helping Vanderbilt teammates cover up the crime, which resulted in the receiver entering a conditional guilty plea to a misdemeanor accessory charge and his dismissal from the football program. He's performed well enough in camp to potentially make the Cowboys seriously consider keeping six receivers. Boyd was one of the stars of Sunday's scrimmage, when his highlights included a leaping, contested catch on a deep ball and a long run after catching a quick out. His name was the first mentioned by head coach Jason Garrett when discussing players who stood out that afternoon. "Boyd seems to make plays when you give him an opportunity down the field," Garrett said.*

This probably won't be popular here, but I'd consider Boyd over Harris.

so if you kept 6 it would be DEZ, Williams Harris Beasley Street and Boyd.

Not sure they can do that with all the Defensive injuries but I think Boyd needs to prove he can still get it done and so far he has been doing a pretty good job.

Will be interesting

I think BOyd will at least make Psq. If we keep 6, I'm thinking it will be BYrd or NEwsome. Both of those guys are supposedly pretty good special teams players

Boyd will never make the PS. He's a Rd two talent with legal issues.

The reason I'd risk losing Harris to keep Boyd is I only see Harris as a ST player. If another guy can take his return job he's expendable.

that might be cause the cowboys have only looked at him as a ST's player. Yet, everytime he gets on the field at a receiver position, he makes plays. Those Dallas coaches and their vision makes me wonder many times.

I disagree. he has had his chances to be the #3 guy. I am not all that impressed with him as a WR. He has his moments but nothing that cant be replaced. If we get a good return man I think Harris is expendable as well.

fine by me.

the coaches carved out the Beasley role cause he's as quick as it gets coming outta his breaks but every time Harris is pressed into action he makes plays. Look no further than last years snore game against Minnesota.

expendable? ....lol, I disagree. I'm not sold on anybody not named Dez has arrived just yet. Sure hope we don't go into this season with two rookies and beasley (pure slot guy) as the back up's to the starters

I understand the concern. I am one of the few that thinks of the WR position as a whole is a concern.

Rookie or not though. whoever is the better WR should be playing. (providing he is a decent return man)

that's the rub for me and I sure hope this Dallas staff is starting to get it.
players that make plays are valuable and trump measurables to me

Harris is a gamer to me. Maybe he doesn't show up every week as a wr but he is the kind of player that helps a team win. To me, he is the best blocker we have out wide. Now that likely tips plays off. When he is in the game we run lots of screens and running plays. Besides DEz, I think he is the best yards after catch guy we have. It wouldn't surprise me if he was our emergency Qb. That's just my opinion.

Whoa....I'd consider Boyd over Street if he outperforms him, but Harris is also a stud special teamer. It's a good kind of problem though

Boyd will always have that on his record. Real fishy details about the incident. From what I know, BOyd made the mistake of just answering his phone

Plenty of info on what happened out there on good ole Google.

Basically he had a serious lapse of judgement trying to help some alleged friends who at that point were deep in the shitty end of a crime.

I am pulling for the kid to make it. Damn if we all were judged by the worst thing we ever did none of us would be worth a damn.
