Because the states do not have the funds. The Feds have always invested heavily in the environment, most of us think that's pretty important.
Again take your case to the polluters I mentioned above
States could easily have the funds if the federal government would stop taxing for things it shouldn’t. The federal government is always overstepping the bounds of its powers and infringing on state rights. Show me where the states were prohibited or the fed was given control over the environment of the state.
It doesn’t matter if you believe something is important. It matters if it is a right given the fed or prohibited the state.
