I just spent a bit of time looking into these two Las Vegas shooters' backgrounds. Eerily similar to the nut in Moncton. And now I really wish I hadn't done that.

He was trying to play hero and got himself killed. All his gun got him was added to a death toll.

I think I'm going to go outside and take a walk.

The Vegas ones were unsettling, and it was hard hearing neighbors say "oh, they talked about this all the time". I can't really fault the neighbors though, because what do you do? Call the police I suppose? But that doesn't really change much.

I think if anything now that the public is being made more aware of not just the shootings but what neighbors have done and not done it will change future behaviors both positively and negatively. Positive that maybe someone will say something and stop a killing. negatively as it may create alot of false investigations to completely innocent people. There will never be a balance I suppose in this and I just wish the shootings would stop.

I saw pictures of the LAs Vegas shooters in Cosplay makeup. I remember that exact picture coming across my pinterest account a few weeks ago it was a little unsettling when I saw it in the press release.

There was a school Shooting in Oregon today, many injured but no one dead except the shooter. Yes this was a few hours ago.

Saw it. I think part of it currently is copycats. It seems like every time one shooting happens, a bunch follow them up, and then there's a lull. There's no answer, that's what stinks. There's nothing that will protect us completely, there's nothing to fully protect your children. It's absolutely demoralizing to think it, but it's true. Makes me scared crapless to even attempt to have a family. I want that joy, but I can't imagine the stress these days, when it seems like the world has gone mad. Hell, 43 over there spends his day discovering too much...if I knew the crap he seems to about people in the world, my kids would be locked away in a tower.

Pretty sobering document below:

In the fourteen months since the mass shooting in Newtown, CT, there have been at least 44 school shootings including fatal and nonfatal assaults, suicides, and unintentional shootings — an average of more than three a month. In the first six weeks of 2014 alone, there were 13 school shootings including one eight-day period in which there were four shootings in K-12 schools.

A key detail that is not making much in the way of headlines is the person they moved in with (after selling their stuff to arm up for the "revolution") said that they told her what they were going to do that day before walking the 4 miles to find a cop.

A call to the police probably does change a lot there. Perhaps at least four children still have fathers.

I hope that person rots in prison for the remainder of their natural life. If someone has the balls to charge her as an accessory, that is.

appears a student did die in todays shooting

Fuck.

I didn't see the particulars, I thought it was just a neighbor, not the woman they were living with.

WTF???? :L

Okay so I know there are always 2 sides to every story and that not all police are good guys all the time, but what the fuck is wrong with this guy? I can't tell if he's trolling or actually means what he says but either way it's disgusting!

Best of Luck, Justin Bourque | Christopher Cantwell

I guess I'm thinking it's probably satire/sarcasm, but even still I think it's in poor taste to use this to push his agenda.

Well just in case this story wasn't emotional enough already. This appeared on a local radio station's Facebook page.

Six-year-old Kodie Power hugs RCMP officer Rick Nicholson (L) as Constable Doug Baker looks on, in Moncton, New Brunswick June 8, 2014.
Constable Doug Larche, one of the three Moncton RCMP officers killed on June 4 in a shooting incident, received a Commander's Commendation in 2008 for saving the life of an unconscious baby in Moncton. Kodie Power was that child.

I learned this weekend that Constable Larche went to the same high school that I did. I don't believe that we were there at the same time though as he was a few years older than me. A few people I know, knew him though.
