I have posted and deleted about 5 replies to this as they were REALLY angry replies. I honestly dont know how to comprehend this. This is quite offensive to me. sorry B4FL but it really is the most offensive thing I have read in a while. Glad you could get your dig in about gun control first.

Reading this guys' facebook is pretty disturbing. Just...disturbing. A bunch of stuff about police having too much control and his love of weapons. Gosh I hope they catch him. Running around through neighborhoods, and according to a friend in town, others are committing thefts and other unlawful acts because they know the RMCP are elsewhere. Sickening.

People are killed by a man with a gun and the first thing you can think to do is to take a dig at people who want to control guns?

Do you know for certain that this maniac's gun didn't cross the border from the states?

Do you care that people were killed or do you just want to promote further gun ownership in both countries?This despite the fact that people on both sides of the border have been killed by people who have guns.

You might feel differently if you, or a family member, are killed by some schmuck who owns a gun just because he can. That is unless, of course, the perpetrator tries to shoot you in the brain. In that case the impact will probably go unnoticed.

If anything this incident shows that Canada's gun policy is flawed and that rules need to be stricter.

I'll never quite understand why people who do it right, aka take classes and get certified to own and operate a firearm, want it to be easier. Wouldn't you, who knows that it takes training and experience to work a gun properly, want anyone who picks it up to be responsible? I just ask that you have to work for it. You have to work to operate a vehicle, to drive a big rig, or to drive a motorcycle, why should it be easier to operate a weapon that can kill people? Anyone who's not willing to wait a few weeks, or take a class, or get registered doesn't really want the gun enough.

Sad news. Those who visit the CHL thread know that I take friendly shots at Moncton from time to time, but I have many friends there and lived there myself for a time. A childhood friend is now an RCMP officer there. Although we were never terribly close, I'm still anxious to hear news about him through our many mutual friends. I suspect no news is good news, or at least as good as it can be. Unfortunately these things can indeed happen anywhere.
