I think that any cop who does this and tries to incite the home crowd deserves to get the piss stomped out of them. If I, or anyone else for that matter, tried this we'd be arrested for inciting a riot or some other bullshit charge.
Now, before anybody goes off halfcocked on this, bear in mind that I said 'incite'. If they just act like normal fans and get razzed a bit for it, then all good. It all hinges on the cops' behavior in this.
While I, personally, think this is a chickenshit tactic if it causes just one person to stop and think and not cross the line, then it's a good thing.

I would hope that the orders are to sit down and just watch the game. If something starts up then pull out the badge and escort the idiots out of the stadium. But this is Seattle's finest so I get your point. Most of the police that I've encountered are professional and do their job but there's more than a very small percentage of officers with a power trip that like to use excessive force.

To get back to you, my brother said that they increased police coverage of the stadium by upwards of 25% in uniform, and another 10% in undercovers, totaling 35% increase in police presence.

I saw more than one instance when a Hawks fan would come back at a 9ers fan and say "Are you a cop?" Obviously sarcastically, but the thugged out gangster wannabe in red would get all defensive and almost fight. They didn't even know about the whole thing. It's like they were too busy kissing their biceps to read one article the last week or something.

I know one thing, I've never yelled "Cop!" "Narc!" and "Pig!" so many times in a Seattle alley without being arrested LOL
