I understood they were going to do groups or tiers of teams. 1-6 had the best chance of making it to the top 4.. 7-13 14-20...

Not ranked within the groups. Fucking stupid.

Yay "playoff"

I like the idea that someone in the comments had. Put out a weekly list of the top 10 teams, in alphabetical order. That way you don't face the same problem the polls have, where teams have to drop after a loss and move up after a win, so that a late season loss hurts more than an early season loss.

Which begs this question. Dosen't the NFL reward teams that do better at the end of the season, when they can make the playoffs with an inferior record to others, but because they've "jelled," go on to win the Super Bowl, example the NY Giants of last year.

So are the playoffs in college football for the best teams all season, or for the teams that look the best in the latter part of the season???

No, they should provide excellent material for strife. This whole committee thing is a bad idea, imo.

This is why this is a failed system. No person should have any control over this. It should be a pure power point system. How is it that high schools have figured this out but not college football.....

??? Umm, no they dont. NFL rewards teams that have the best overrall seasons ( with the exception of division winners). How a team finishes has nothing to do with the NFL playoffs.

Saying this system won't be corrupt is like saying Jerry Jones won't out bid every host site every single year.

I personally like it.

If Tulsa is ranked #2 coming into the last game of the season, and Memphis is ranked #4, having lost a game earlier in the year to shitty auburn...Memphis wins their final game, but Tulsa loses a tight one to Oklahoma. With our system now, you know Tulsa drops and Memphis rises, even though Tulsa lost to a much tougher opponent.

So I really like that fact that "time of loss" won't matter. If I comprehended that correctly...if not, disregard.
