I am going to fire up the way way wayback machine.

Pierre Larouche.

50 goal scorer who battled some injuries, Pens sent him to the Habs for Peter Lee and Pete Mahovlich.

In recent memory, Kyle Quincey on waivers kind of hurt. I know he's not a huge stud or anything, but he was let go in lieu of Brett Fucking Lebda, Andreas Fucking Lilja, and Derek Fucking Meech (who still has yet to be given a fair shot in the NHL, he might develop into something yet). I know Quincey is a bit of a dirtbag, but he's a skilled and smart dirtbag. Plus we haven't had a good solid dirtbag on the blueline since the lockout.

Going farther back, I mentioned Adam Oates today. Oats/Yzerman up the middle would have been pretty mean.

Coming to say this. Only really know about it from books, but there it is.

For a Sens fan it has to be Yashin. I mean all we could get for this guys was Chara and Spezza??? PFFTTT!!

Seriously though the two I wanted to see retire as Sens that didn't are Chara and Hossa.

EDIT: Make a wish this is post 1111 for me.

As a Flyers, the only true one that got away was Patrick Sharp.

He only got better. It pisses me off, because it's not like he was struggling here, he just didn't get along with the coach.

You can argue guys like Justin Williams and Umberger, but they just aren't on the same level as Sharp. We shall see soon if one or both Richards and Carter take the Sharp road.

Former Flames GM Craig Button let Martin St. Louis walk away for nothing. At least the Jets got $1 when they traded Kris Draper to Detroit.

/That could be the reason Craig Button is a former NHL GM...

I know Brett Hull didn't get along with Terry Crisp, which is why he was traded.

My question is why did the Flames trade Doug Gilmour?

For me,it's Forsberg.
The whole Lindros package was a fucking joke.

My question is why did the Flames trade Doug Gilmour?

Killer and Flames GM at the time Doug Risebrough couldn't come to an agreement on a long term contract. Without a doubt the worst trade in Flames history (huge trade involving 10 players with the main guys being Doug Gikmour and Gary Leeman).

All time...Brendan Witt by a mile

I don't know, guys. I gotta put my top D-men that got away list at (1) Scott Stevens, (2) Larry Murphy (whoop whoop whoop), and (3) Kevin Hatcher. Those guys ended up or went to rivals (Pens and Devils of all teams) that won Cups with them and two are in the HOF. Hatcher and Murphy were both hated on by fans who probably helped push them out of town.

Witter was a beast, but he's only played a couple full seasons since he left and I don't even think he's in the league anymore. Was really sad to see him go, but the Caps got the best years out of him. Though he is the only person I know of to get hit by a car and can say the car the lost.
