OK so the NLDS doesnt even start until FRIDAY (LA vs StL), and Washington presumably then too.

Cal, how does this not allow room for a 3 game WC series??

No double headers needed and no additional 'momentum' loss for the division winners. It should be Giants get on a plane for Pittsburgh tonight, play 3 in Pitt Mon to Wed, what am I missing here?

They have to allow time for 163s and maybe 164s(???).

OK fair enough you need Monday for 163s. So Tues-Thurs for WC series, still get going with the division series Friday.

My point was your 'momentum killing' objection is moot. And you'd think they'd want the extra dollars too, 1-2 more games of TV and attendance per league.

I honestly can't think of a reason not to do it that way, maybe they'll get there eventually.
