I think I'm going to a place called Carlo's for pizza by the slice today. I'll probably get Chicago style (even though it's not real Chicago style... nowhere around here that claims to be Chicago style actually is), it's pretty damn good. Hint: Always go to pizza joints where the guy who owns it is right off the boat.

I haven't been to the Chicago Pizza and Oven Grinder on Clark street in a while... that place is incredible. You might have to wait in line for a couple hours, but it's worth it.

I went with a homemade pizzadilla. Mozzerella, feta, green pepper, onion, pepperoni, mushroom, tomato, all between two tortilla shells.

many many years ago, I was at my then-girlfriend's house and we decided to order some pizza. don't worry,t he story gets better.
I called a number from a take-out menu (she was new to that neigbourhood, we didn't have a regular place yet). The guy answered the phone with a "Hello, Pizza King" in a harsh East Indian accent, and I immediately hung up. My girlfriend's roommates (hairy unwashed hippie types) got all hostile with me, called me a racist to the nth degree. I said if I wanted indian food I will call an indian; when i want pizza, i will call an italian or a greek.

fast forward about two weeks later, and Pizza King made headline news because the East Indian owner had been using the pizza oven to incinerate the remains of his murdered and chopped up wife. I brought that newspaper over that very day and bathed in smug. asshole hippies.

Wow, that is fucked up.

I took your word for it that the story was going to get better but I didn't see that coming.

Growing up my favorite pizza place was near my home called Bellisario's. Incredible pizza. All the workers and owners were true green, red and white Italians. The place burned down due to a rumored Mafia connection, so you knew they were legit lol

After they reopened in a new location across the street, their pizza just wasn't as good as it used to be. Go figure. But still some of the best pizza around.

Bellisario's Restaurant - Allison Park, PA, 15101 - Citysearch

A lot of times it has to do with the ovens. If they had to get new ones because of the fire, I bet that could be the reason. There's a place in Stoughton, MA called The Town Spa that made great pizza when I was growing up, but since they moved (they went from a small building to a bigger one and more of a restaurant) the pizza isn't as good. The two best places around here for bar room style pizza are The Cape Cod Cafe in Brockton (home of Rocky Marciano, Marvin Hagler and me), and a place called The Linwood Cafe in Randolph MA. I live in Taunton MA now and the best pizza near me is right down the street called Whittenton House Of Pizza. Not bar room style, but really good pizza. I think I'll get one before the game tonight. There are some great places in the north end of Boston.

Well, I LOVE pizza. Really do. But I stopped eating dairy last year. It was a hard adjustment to make but I really feel a lot better. Cheese is really bad for you.

I avoided cheese the best I could last year for a good 6 months straight. Best shape of my life. Gotta get back to that again eventually

I'm gonna pretend you didn't say that.

Mmmm...cheese...queso...formaggio...fromage

I could stand to lose 10-15 pounds, but that has more to do with a lack of exercise than my love of cheese...my blood pressure and cholesterol are good so I'm not worried about cheese. :)

Nah man, I swear if you stopped eating cheese you would lose a bunch of weight really quick. Cheese causes bloating and weight gain. I think I lost ten pounds in a month when I finally stopped eating dairy.
