I wouldn't be surprised if Calhoun is traded as well. Why move an aging veteran when you can hold onto them and trade younger, better talent? Kind of like they did when they decided to keep Odor and sent Profar away, not younger, but better.

No it is not like Profar, sir

Initially I wanted to keep Calhoun, but the front office might have just spoiled that relationship.

If he is traded, I hope it’s to the national league. If he’s traded within the division, god help us because he will be seeking revenge.
Got a point there.

This guy may be getting significant time with us next year or maybe sooner if we DFA Cabrera. He is burning it up

Both would be getting rid of a better player than you are keeping. That makes them both very similar.

It would result from the same bad decision makers also

You think Choo is better than Willie? I liked Profar better than Odor but we got good value in that trade. Plus would have to be extended if within your window assessment.

Apples to oranges IMO

What we got for Profar is bot the issue. The issue is what we kept versus what we got rid of. I think that was a mistake and the other would be a mistake also. Apples and apples.

I hope they let Kelly's injury motivate them to get the trading started.

Way too small of a sample size. An excuse simply cannot be made for the very poor decision to send him down.

So what if he isn't in the Rangers plans going forward does that still make it a poor decision? The rules are made so teams can't hoard players so decisions have to be made on them when the time comes. Sounds like it's time to make the decision on him, business is business you make the decision and you live with it no matter what others think. Me personally I wouldn't have taken him in the Darvish trade for the very simple reason the Dodgers were OK with giving him up.

That pitch gets Odor every time, he doesn’t recognize that he can’t hit it.

Some guys like what they see in certain pitches even though they can't hit it well, you can goad them into going after that pitch by playing your defense to make it look even more enticing.

Team meeting! That took long enough, Beltre would have been on them way before this.
That just might be the problem...Beltre provided that team leadership. Seems Elvis is trying to step up.

Yes, that in itself is an extremely poor decision. They are starting to make more and more of those.
