Guzman is trying to catch Mathis with his batting average. Gonna pass Roogie soon

Wish his swing was more up the middle. Looks like he pulls away making him susceptible to outside pitch

Gets really long as well

He had a double take on bad called first strike. His contact approach is something that other players should emulate

Yes terrible strikeout by Elvis. No way he is opting out

That is a poor excuse for not taking appropriate action. Woodward is the master of excuses it seems.

Right or wrong it looks like their commitment is to continued development of core players

Was hoping some of the younger guys could learn from guys like Choo but apparently there is a major disconnect for guys like Roogie. Choo and Santana are good guys to emulate

If our core continues to be below average then we will lose more games than we’ll win. I’m not sold on this core but apparently the rest are. How long do they get is the question? 2-3 years? Odor has had longer than that

Guys keep in mind these players are very young. How mature were we at ages lower to mid twenties? When these kids see players like Santana getting passed over in favor of Odor things click in their minds. Hard to handle and that is only one example. Sure you can think of a few more.

I think the direction has already been decided upon. I believe now they are just waiting for offers to come in.

That pitch gets Odor every time, he doesn’t recognize that he can’t hit it. My momma told me not to call people stupid but I will say he’s late to understand

Bottom Line: Mgrs. have to manage, players have to play.
Yep, and we have some failures on both sides of that coin. Both sides must improve dramatically.

Kind of my thoughts too.

That is the kind of thing that we have been discussing concerning management. They make poor decisions about who should be a core player. In some cases we are rotten to the core.
