I just... wow. There really isn't anything to say there.

Also, yes, narratives. Although I feel inconsistency is actually fairly easy to prove.

OH, also! Save us Jacques Lemaire, you're our only hope.

There's something about Consol...I hate that place. It's a nice place to watch a hockey game, but...I hate that place. Obviously that has very little to do with the outcomes, but I doubt there's a single NHLer who is actually intimidated to play there.

I hope the Pens fans resist the urge to believe the sky is falling. It was music to my hears to hear the Pens boo'ed at home by their fans in round one.

But still, just leaving it to chance you'd have a better record than 1-7. Let alone a home crowd in playoff kill games. Dan the Man just has some kind of knack for.. something. Is he telling players things that make them panic? What?

At least that's a sweet goatee he's growing.

Report: Crosby, Lundqvist avoid fines for Game 6 antics | ProHockeyTalk

I don't really care that much, but again, the NHL loves inconsistency. How in the world do you fine Thornton, and not Lundqvist? I just really want to know what separates those two altercations.

Water bottle squirting logic from the NHL:

Thornton>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Lundqvist = Perry.

I seriously wonder if Thornton got the fine only because it was Subban and all that occurred after game one on twitter.

I think all three are immature, but you could argue that Thornton was interfering with live play, from the bench, while the other two were between whistles. That distinguishes it.

Too bad I can't find the clip but it probably resembles Rachel Phelps pep talk in Major League 2.

Oh yeah all three were stupid plays and great point probably because it was during game play.

For all you Lundqvist haters/doubters.

The Rangers goaltender has posted a 9-2 record with a 1.35 GAA, a .955 SV%, and 2 SO in his last 11 games when the Rangers have faced elimination, and a 7-0 record, with a 0.98 GAA, a .967 SV%, and 2 SO in his last seven games when the Blueshirts have faced elimination at home.
Lundqvist has posted a 4-1 record, along with a 1.39 GAA and a .959 SV% when making 30 or more saves in a playoff game this year.

Keep saying how ''overrated'' he is. Go check his last 4 game 7's as well. 4-0 0.75 goals against and not sure of the exact save percentage but know it's above .975.

All of the water bottle squirting and nut shots need to go away - these players are acting immature and are looking for any advantage to get into players heads instead of playing the game and focusing on that

“I always squirt it when I go off the ice,” Lundqvist told reporters, per Sportsnet. “I don’t know what you’re talking about.”

... excellent response, Hank

Wow, and without knowing this stat, I said earlier in this thread that the Pens are allergic to clinching at home. Good to know I have my finger on the pulse of reality.

I can see King Henrik not being fined because it was "similar" to the Corey Perry water in the glove to Jeff Carter (it was during a stoppage in play) and not during the play and potentially dangerous (the Thornton water squirt to PK Subban). As for the Crosby "how do you do" spear, I gotta say that was worthy of a fine (not quite as bad as Lucic, but in the same ballpark).

That was him mainly wanting to know what it felt like to have balls in a cup. :laugh3:

I'll tell you, sometimes thePensBlog comes up with some quality material that would rival DGB.

/in case it wasn't clear...yes, pun intended

What DB is trying to illustrate there is the lack of finishing on your scoring chances causes them to become blue?

Hang on, I'm a bit confused by that stat. How could they have already lost 7 elimination games when he's only been the coach for 5 postseasons (not counting this year) and they won the Cup one of those years?

By my math, they've only been eliminated 4 times with him as coach.
