Henrik embarrasses Crosby with the water bottle, not sure this a great idea
No worries. Crosby's embarrassed himself plenty throughout these playoffs.

The only thing consistent about this team is their inconsistency. Games 2 through 4 you suddenly think they have a chance at the cup and then they revert to idiot play for the next 120 minutes. It's nowhere near as embarrassing as the Flyers series from two years ago - they've been relatively composed - but there's been no desire. Really frustrating.

The good thing is that Tuesday is a win-win. Either they advance to the conference finals, or Bylsma is toast. Rumour is that ownership is fed up with this team - not just Bylsma, but as they say, easier to fire one coach than trade an entire team.

I didn't watch the game last night, but I'm hearing Sidney Crosby was pulling douche moves left and right.

He had one skate-by slewfoot that was embarrassing. The rest was pretty standard post-whistle scrums, nothing memorable other than it highlighted his frustration.

Hard to tell what is most embarrassing about that...

Crosby for being dumb enough to deliver it, or the Ranger for looking back to make sure he was in prime position to be "bowled over".

:L

And is it a "slew foot" by definition when it's Crosby's front skate that makes contact first? A Slew foot is usually the back leg sweeping the player's foot out from under them. Rare that they get a chance to get their skate back on the ice before uncontrollably falling down.

All I can say is that I'm cheering for the Penguins because if the Bruins do get by the Habs, I'd rather have Boston shooters facing MAF than King Henrik.

As much as I hate to see the Bruins win and probably would outright loath it. But seeing Iggy get a chance to raise that cup would be cool to bad it would never happen with the Flames.

Is Lundquist gonna get a fine like Thornton for the water bottle spraying?

Probably not. I guess it goes in the same level of bottle squirting as did Corey Perry's?

Probably should've thrown undisciplined in there too. But basically think I covered every angle of NBC's analysis. They're so incredibly lazy it's astounding. Fans using that crap is one thing, because they're frankly not educated in the game enough to look beyond it. "Experts" leaning heavily on it is pure laziness. Milbury is just such a huge joke, NBC should be ashamed. In the first intermission he took shots of the Rangers physicality (and stupid penalties) and called it passion. Then he called Kunitz finally going after someone for hitting Sid lack of composure. It wasn't smart, but it's amazing what lengths will be gone to to beat that horse to death. Then the passion thing...no. NO. You know why the Rangers have won the past two games? Execution. THAT is how you win hockey games.

I do not wish to toot my own horn, but I did come up with Furry Male Dancer during the first round.

But I am kicking myself for missing Gin Stalker.

And their goaltender is their best penalty killer. :suds:

Honestly though: he hasn't played any better or worse game to game. He's been very good in all but *maybe* one game (was it 3 where his SV% was pretty bad?), but even that game the goals were on breakaways and his D was floating. He was trying to steal games when his team was being massively outplayed, and now the team up front is executing...and they've won 2 in a row. I think the Pens can rebound quickly, because lord knows they love to be inconsistent in any way possible, so I'm sure they'll come out and win running away to get Pens fans' collective hopes up, only to lose the next 2.

I can see King Henrik not being fined because it was "similar" to the Corey Perry water in the glove to Jeff Carter (it was during a stoppage in play) and not during the play and potentially dangerous (the Thornton water squirt to PK Subban). As for the Crosby "how do you do" spear, I gotta say that was worthy of a fine (not quite as bad as Lucic, but in the same ballpark).

narrative narrative old cliche narrative :yahoo:

Saw a stat today that said that Pens are 1-7 at home in elimination games under Disco Dan.

I just... wow. There really isn't anything to say there.

Apparently Upshall did it during a stoppage earlier in the season without fine or suspension either (maybe they figured playing in Florida was enough punishment :noidea:).

I guess the during play vs. stoppage is the biggest difference.

There's something about Consol...I hate that place. It's a nice place to watch a hockey game, but...I hate that place. Obviously that has very little to do with the outcomes, but I doubt there's a single NHLer who is actually intimidated to play there.
