Pittsburgh should have won in regulation Tuesday night, but gave up a 2 goal lead in the last 10 minutes. Then lost in OT. So they gave the Islanders 2 points and lost 1 themselves.
Tonight the Islanders should have won in regulation, but gave up a tying goal with 30 seconds left. But they were able to win it in OT. So the only effect that late goal had was give the Penguins a point.

The end of this home and home was both teams should have come away with 2 points apiece, but the Isles were giving an extra 2 points.
