Yeah that really is typical for the NHL. Instead of basing it off of intent they looked at the outcome/player. If Rafl was hurt I guarantee it would have been more games.

Just remember this is the same amount of games AO got for skipping the All-Star. :L
Agreed....OV definitely deserved more than 1 game for that :heh:

Maatta is reportedly not in a sling, so that's a good sign, since it looked like a probable shoulder injury live.

I know we've all lamented his injury means more Jack Johnson, but honestly, we should probably be lamenting his injury meaning less Olli Maatta. He's been solid this season, and more physical than in the past since he's been paired with Riikola.

His CF% and FF% are uninspiring taken absent context, but over 58% of his faceoffs are in the defensive zone against just 41% in the offensive zone, so that likely skews the number a bit against him, especially since the Pens are an exactly average faceoff team (T-15th in the league at 50.0%). He's playing with a talented but unpolished rookie, too, and the pairing has improved as the season goes on. The Penguins also have a higher shooting percentage than their opponents when he's on the ice at even strength, which may speak at least a bit to the quality of chances that shot density he yields corresponds to.

Basically, the Penguins are going to miss Maatta because Maatta is not worse than an average defenseman, and probably deserves a second-pairing designation.

so agree with this. Easily the best he's played since that rookie season when we all thought we had a true future stud Dman in the making.

So weird that the Pens fans in the building seem to have a problem with a weak call benefiting one of the league's poster children.

HOLY FUCK MURRAY

Come on we don't know any better. :suds:

And thanks McDavid for aiming to Murray's glove hand to make him look good. Proves that McDavid is the best in the league making all the players around him seem like superstars.

That offsides call Lucic shows his great hustle.

Also the Penguins got away with half their team on the ice.

They were using their line change in the bank.

That was a penalty by Lucic on Hornqvist, but Dean Morton is one of if not the worst ref in the league.
