LOL

Rev Drunkard??

No, just had to give myself a time out. :D

I spent some pretty wild days with alcohol in my early college days at Davis.

Once I became a pastor, and began working with some recovering alcoholics at a church I served, I gave up drinking. I do not miss it at all, nor do I judge people who do drink (seems like many of my fellow clergy drink wine, or stronger stuff). It is a personal decision for me, and does not accrue to any character building, like if I had to give up baseball or chocolate. :D Giving up alcohol for me was done for good motives (to help influence others, and not to cause offense), but it has been akin to giving up tofu and Brussels Sprouts.

Both solid decisions as well...

In anticipation of Sunday's post, started looking up pitchers and catchers who wore #26, and came up with Dick Estelle. Interesting to find an odd thing on his 1965 and 1966 baseball cards. Can you find it?

He shared a rookie card in both years with players who retired before many of us were born?

For Saturday.

That's a great pic, thanks for sharing.

I'll be at six of the games this spring. Hmmm, I haven't been there since '09. I hope I'm no pulling a Colin.

If anyone else is going to AZ try to go to a game at the Brewers park, as you can usually sit anywhere you want and get really close to the action. I should have a new lens by then and hope to get some good pics.

'09 was a great year! That was the beginning of "The Run". If not for Mo-fucking-lina, we might have actually made the playoffs that year.

I should be there from the 16th to the 22nd.

Nope.

Carefuly read Estelle's description for both years. Then look at this.

Don't know if it included him, but I've heard of players back then who would screw with the photographers doing stuff like this.

I don't get it. Could you explain it to me in small words?

I don't see it as strange that the photograph would show him in his Tacoma Giants gear, as that's where he spent almost the entire year in '64 and '65 (33 and 29 games, respectively). The card basically almost only talks about his minor league accomplishments. So what's weird about it?

If it's about the "missing I", look at the picture. The 'I' could easily be hidden by a fold in the jersey, since all the letters are different distances apart, because of multiple folds in the fabric due to his delivery.
