I would love to get the players and owners in the same room, and have them have to listen to me for 15 min about how fucking stupid they both are.
If what I'm reading is correct, they really aren't far apart at all. In fact, one of the owners, they wouldn't say who, said he looked at both the players and owners proposals and couldn't see much difference, and he wondered why they don't have an agreement already!!!

In all honesty, I really haven't noticed that much. I watch football when I have the time but otherwise I haven't been following the lockout at all. It will suck after the superbowl becuase I don't like basketball.

On the bright side I might get caught up on some reading. I have Chernow's biography on George Washington that I have been meaning to get to...

In 2004 I wanted Bettman's head on a stick, this year I'm much more upset with the players. I have taken this lockout personally and it is going to be a loooong time until I step foot into an NHL arena, if ever. I love this sport, this league and this team the San Jose Sharks, I have invested so much time, passion and money into all three collectively. What have I gotten in return? Two lockouts in 8 seasons, that is absolutely unacceptable. I want Bettman and Fehr both to eat shit, each time I see one of their faces on TSN, I want to puke. Same goes for that whiny, baby back bitch, Alexander Ovechkin, all I've heard from him is that if he doesn't like the agreement, he will stay in Russia. That is a giant "FUCK YOU" to all of the Caps fans and all of the fans around the NHL that watch him and purchased Ovechkin jerseys, he and a lot of these other greedy hacks that call themselves professional hockey players couldn't give two shits about their fan base. I've heard these guys say that they are treated like "animals", you have got to be kidding me!!! It must be rough getting paid millions, flying first class and staying at 5 star hotels. These guys literally make me want to vomit, I have gone as far as taking down all of my autographed NHL memorabilia in my man cave. At the end of the day, I am hurt, I am not afraid to admit that. I am very upset about this lockout, there is no other sport out there that makes me feel the way NHL hockey does, it's a love affair and right now all of us fans are being punished by GREED and STUBBORNNESS. I will not come running back to an NHL arena when these ass clowns finally get it together and get back to playing hockey, they do not deserve my support and they do not deserve my money. Donald Fehr is a cancer to this beautiful game, in fact does anyone remember who the head of the MLBPA was during baseball's last lockout? DING DING DING* It was dick faced Donald Fehr. Bettman isn't off the hook either but I understand that he needs to put in place a system that ensures the longevity of this game and in order to do that, he needs the players to give back a good portion of that pie that they have been taking the past 7 seasons but under the direction of Fehr, they aren't willing to do that. The players are acting like if they agree to the leagues terms under a new CBA that they will wind up on the streets when their playing careers are over, HARDLY. Quit basking in your own farts and get over yourselves and realize that people don't follow the NHL like they follow the MLB, NBA, and NFL. You guys aren't super stars in the grand scheme of things, you have a small but extremely loyal following and you are shitting on that loyalty by allowing this lockout to go on. It's a complete joke and I'm sick of it. The NHL is dead to me and I don't know if I will ever come back. In the mean time, the Red and Gold are playing some pretty good football and those boys in Oakland are playing some great basketball. It won't be long until the NHL and Sharks hockey are completely forgotten in my household, I will not have high hopes and allow myself to be let down as I was in 2004. I'm disgusted and I have lost all faith in this league and it's players.

I feel the same MAC, the longer this lock out continues the more fans will get angry. I would like to enjoy Sharks hockey, but since they don't wanna play I've been happy to enjoy a strong 49er team. Also with the SF Giants winning the world series, this lock out isn't that big of a deal for me.

I don't think I'd feel any different if the Warriors, 49ers or Giants weren't playing well but I guess that's easy to say without completely knowing. I miss coming home after a long days work and watching Sharks hockey every other night, that sting has been somewhat lessened by the fact that the Warriors also have an 82 game season and they have been playing great basketball. They have been a fun team to watch, reminiscent of the 2006-2007 "We believe" run. With all that said, just like you Chango and the rest of the fellas on our beloved board, nothing gets me like hockey. It's an amazing sport full of intensity and passion, I'm just so upset this time around and call it hurt feelings or pride or whatever you will, I just don't see myself crawling back to the Shark tank after being forced to suffer through another bull shit lockout.

While I understand that it's a business and each side wants their share of the pie, it seems they are forgetting who bakes their pie. Us paying customers - who purchase jerseys and tickets, and watch games on TV so that commercials can be sold. There may be much less bakers once this lockout ends.

When it's all said and done, us Sharks fans will lose one year of possible contention. With the old guys on the team, there's no telling how this off year will affect them.
