Pirates castoff Ishikawa strikes out swinging to end the game. Raise the Jolly Roger on a series victory!

That takes a bit of the sting out of that series in Denver.

Oakland won and the Angels lost. How do I deserve this much baseball fortune in one night?

It's been a good night for baseball.

Game won, now go get Lester so those smarmy Cards don't.

Don't even joke like that.

It's being rumored that it's LAD, PIT, or STL.

The Pirates have the most to work with to get him, but it's about willingness at this point. I'm not sure that the Cards match up with the Sox unless Tavares is involved (which he won't be). The Dodgers have a few outfield prospects too, but they don't have the depth the Pirates do. Pirates simply make the most sense, but again: willingness. Especially some of the non-first rounder kids that NH found and developed himself.

I'd like to see Pedro in the lineup, you know, eventually...

Which is more endearing to you...watching him swing at wildly thrown pitches, or him wildly throwing to first? :)

Polanco with a lucky hit and a well-timed steal, now Cutch has an RBI chance.

The Bucs aren't picking up the spin on Lincecum's breaking ball so far.

Polanco looked safe. Probably wouldn't have been close had he not stuck in the wet dirt.

Hurdle won't challenge, though.

Morton's command looks poor. Either leaving the pitches up or missing way too low.

Movement is definitely there for Morton today. His sinker is dropping like a curve. If he gets a feel for it and locates it, he could have a nice game.

Just off the inside edge is not getting called a strike, but that's where Morton has been living.

A couple of those takes by Sandoval were impressive, especially for a free swinger.

And a bloop brings in another. Mercer should have tried to chase that down instead of jumping. Still nothing hit especially well.
