Oh how the folks at Red Bull Honda are howling about the insult of Hamilton wrecking Verstappen in the first lap at the British GP. The latest is that Red Bull will incur a $1.8 million expense to fix poor Verstappen's car. Good Grief. You'd think the world is coming to an end with these prima donnas. Wrecks happen every week in NASCAR and IndyCar and it isn't the end of the world. Geez Louise.

Well, the prima donnas in F-1 roll into Budapest, Hungary for this weeks addition of who is going to cry the loudest. Should be interesting now that Mercedes has got some confidence back and they hope to add more adjustments to their 2021 rides for Hamilton and Bottas to continue to try to become dominant again. We shall see if their changes are going to be consistent or if Verstappen comes roaring back.

I am really looking forward to this weekend.

Louis has won 4 of the last 5 races, and 8 times in total.

That was then, this is now.

God, I hope that engine is busted and needs replaced. Or better yet, it seems fine and gives up ten laps into the race. DNF this time and a penalty next.

AND the cost of flying it and staff to Japan to try and fix it gets held against the cost cap.

Not sure the tire difference will have a huge impact on the overall race. Cant see this being by less than 3 stops.

Lewis' mind games make me laugh. He knows RB are more worried about what he does than what they can do to stop him. Slowing down enough to make it so Perez didn't get the last lap in Q3 and pissing Verstappen off to the point where he got a bad start to his q3 lap. lol.

Also laughed when Crofty quickly apologized for Daniel Ricciardo's "fuck" on the radio after Q2 and Nico said "That's the right word".

The only reason Verstappen is still in this is because the two times Lewis has had a chance to put a boot on his neck, he has made mistakes. Wrong brake settings in Baku cost him a win, and today, not putting slicks on cost him a 25+ second win. And it was 100% Lewis' call on a formation lap. He must have had such a sinking feeling seeing everyone dive in to the pits. Kind of surprised at how exhausted Lewis looked at the end too. I know it's hard work, but he looked ready to pass out. Wonder if there was something wrong with his drinks bottle.

Feels little harsh to give Valterri and Stroll the same penalty. Valterri got caught out with a loss of downforce on a greasy track and he braked too late. Stroll just flat out over cooked it and decided to aim his car where he'd hit less. Bottas should have gotten a penalty, just feels like what happened to him wasn't as bad as what happened with Stroll. And I think the decision is already made, but that probably cost him the seat vs George next year.

Great for Ocon. What a drive.

What a start of a race.
Bottas is the ultimate team player for Hamilton & Mercedes. Wiping out the top 6 in points besides his teammate. taking a 5 place grid penalty for next race. Now that is sacrifice for the team.
Congrats to Williams getting points today.
Seems like one of Red Bulls problems is reacting to Mercedes strategies. Instead leading with their own. I think Verstappen could have finished better if they made different decisions. When Mercedes knows Red Bull will react to their strategy. They control both teams strategies.
Nice seeing someone new as P1 today. Congrats to Ocon.

Really thought after Hamilton not pitting that Sainz was gonna win the race at the beginning. Ironically Sainz can thank his mess up that made him start in the back for his good finish today. Otherwise he would have been up there with Leclerc when all the carnage began.

With everyone getting zero points. That means I have scored the most points (or tied) 3 weekends in a row :becky:

The Noob is coming for you guys!

Seb ran out of gas. DQed.

He had to have a litre to sample and he only had .3 l.

I loved that race.

Lots of fun.

Alonso kept Hamilton from winning.

2 more free laps and he would have.

And now Horner is once again bleating and pissing about how FIA has to "look at Mercedes..."

Yep, the Mercs have Red Bull all effed-in-the-head and the Bottas affair on the first lap with the rain coming down now has Hamilton regaining the points lead with a nice margin of 14 points heading into the Belgium GP.

Ocon takes the win followed by Hamilton, Sainz, and Alonzo. This is the result of a first lap wreak initiated by Bottas who took out Norris, Perez, and Verstappen. Stroll then took out LeClerc and Ricciardo. Ocon wins his first F-1 Race.

Hamilton came all the back to finish third but because Vettel ran out of gas and got DQ'd, Hamilton moved to second and Sainz made the podium in third. Verstappen officially finished ninth and gains a point.

This is the part of the F-1 schedule where we get a month off. Teams catch their breaths and everyone gets ready for the final half of the season and the championship. Our next race is August 27-29, 2021. See everyone then for the Belgium Grand Prix.

Alonso kept Hamilton from winning.
Yep and Raikkonen meandering out of the pits blocking the inside dive from Hammy didn't do him any favors. Had Lewis made that pass, he'd have caught Ocon. He had to back out and Alonso kept him behind for four or five more laps from there. Incredible performance from Alonso. Mean but clean.
