Charles won’t be racing. Issue with a driveshaft that can’t be fixed in time, and won’t be starting.

Updating to my non-Charles scenario

Max
Carlos
Lando
Valtteri

what a dummy. The Ferrari’s were fast, and Charles clipped the barrier terribly - it wasn’t even close to missing it. If he were that nervous in qually, can’t imagine he would have been able to keep it together all race.

Charles isn't even starting the race at all. Gearbox problem is terminal.

I am not sure I have ever seen a bigger mistake in F1 history. A former powerhouse team struggling to get back to the front of the grid rolls the dice and gets punted out of the biggest race of the year and takes a chance of a home GP win for a kid born there.

Binotto has to be fired. There is no other way.

So the left side drive shaft is the side that was broken. Seems Ferrari only looked at the right side, where the impact was. :L

All that. Plus a good opportunity to pick up serious points on McLaren, and possibly even Merc (not that it would matter too much).
What a joke

Ferrari passing up on 2 cars in the top 6 (5?) to not just change the gearbox. Given their speed at Monaco and that being seemingly a good result any other weekend, Binotto better have some good answers.

They all made it through Sainte Devote. Actually shocked.

buckling up for a boring one. Charles on pole was the wildcard.

Neither Merc has anything. Slowly working their way into a position where even strategy can't save them.

Bottas retires because a wheel nut won't come off.

Holy cow. Big teams failing left and right.

Merc also blew the overcut and lost 2 positions and are now under threat for Hamilton to finish behind Perez.

Yep. Perez gets by and now sits in 4th after the pit stops.

Hard to believe something isn’t up with the McL car. Ricardo can’t really be this much slower than Lando.

Nice you got three of the 4 :thumb:

Shit circuit.

For the record I don't like all these late pick changes. The races are on at 5 AM out here and I'm not up to see.

Should not be allowed to change picks on race day.

So annoyed that I got up to watch this. I expected something special would happen and the race was only 100 yards long.

I think the pick changes are fine as long as they are before lights out. The time stamps make it clear if they were in in time. And this was such a weird situation with ambiguity about whether the pole sitter would start there, pit lane, 5 spots back or even start at all. Shouldn't ever happen again.

I guess if you are up then.

I think it should be locked in Saturday no matter what.

I made 2 sets of picks (30 min after yours) on Saturday, based on the fluke in Q3 and major, unknown info - no other reason. Every other race, my picks have been in on Saturday, and they’ll continue to be. I didn’t change picks from what I’d said Saturday
Will defer to Retroman for official rulings on this one and will be supportive either way. I feel like, since no time limit is published, anything before lights out is fine. I’m also good with picks by Saturday if that’s the route he chooses

Verstappen takes the win, followed by Sainz, Norris, and Perez. LeClerc didn't even answer the bell. Pity.
